Strange humanoid creatures covered with wool are found in many countries and are widely known under the names of Yeti, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yovi and others.

We met a similar creature in Japan and gave it the name Hibagon, however, it was observed only in the 1970s.

Neither earlier nor later did they see anything like this here, which soon gave rise to many hypotheses about who it was.

Many believed that this creature was just a gorilla breaking free from a private zoo and that the animal could not survive the freezing winters and died several years after its escape.

But an examination of eyewitness accounts indicates that it was most likely not an ordinary animal.

The very first sighting of Hibagon took place on July 20, 1970 near Mount Hiba, in the Hiba-Dogo-Taishaku Quasi quasi-national park. The creature was then seen by several eyewitnesses, including a certain Yukio Sasawa.

According to the woman, at first they saw how some large creature was busily digging in the ground, it seems it was looking for sweet potatoes. But when people came closer, it suddenly straightened up in front of them to its full height.

Later, in the same park, a man named Albert Kubo ran into the same creature.

In total, about a dozen more similar observations were obtained in 1970. Then there were several more in the period from 1971 to 1974, and then everything stopped just as suddenly as it began. The creature disappeared without a trace.

In the early 1980s, there was one report of sightings of a similar hairy creature in the Mitsugi area. An eyewitness saw how an erect hairy creature was walking somewhere and holding an object that looked like a stone ax (!). But in subsequent years and to this day, no more reports have appeared about him.

Cryptozoologist Richard Freeman at one time studied the Hibagon phenomenon well, but he also has no answer to the question of who this creature was.

Was it a Japanese macaque? Japanese macaques are covered with wool and live in harsh areas, but even if such a macaque stands on its hind legs, it will not reach 150 cm in height.
