For many years we have been taught that the only correct way to know the world, and at the same time ourselves, is logic. And intuition has always been skeptical - what kind of mystical nonsense is this?

Psychologist Eric Berne wrote that "intuition is a fragile and purely personal phenomenon, and its study is not approved by those who strictly adhere to scientific methods" (he himself, by the way, listened to intuition). But recently, either under the influence of the East, where intuition is firmly believed, or for other reasons, even scientists have recognized that intuition exists.

EXPERIMENT

The existence of intuition was confirmed by such an experiment: several people were asked to watch slides, some of which carried a sharp negative charge: photographs of accidents, natural disasters and other extreme events.

All this time, special devices monitored the emotional state of the participants, which recorded that before viewing the "bad" frames, some of the subjects had a surge of negative emotions, and people had no idea which picture they would show next. Experts threw up their hands and admitted that such "clairvoyance" can not be explained by anything other than developed intuition.

However, some people, including celebrities, trusted the sixth sense without any research. For example, Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev, when discussing a problem with his wife, always asked her to voice the first thought that came to her mind. He believed that it was intuition that would prompt the right decision. Famous mathematicians, physicists, chess players also listened to the inner voice. And sometimes intuition “appeared” to them in the form of some symbols.

The famous mathematician Gauss complained that even having ready-made results, he did not know how to consciously approach them. Regarding the table of chemical elements, Dmitry Mendeleev is credited with the words: "Everything in my head came together, but I cannot express it with a table."

But suddenly a moment comes - sudden, accidental, unprogrammed, when the ripe result instantly overcomes the threshold of consciousness. This "flash" of consciousness is called nothing more than "inspiration", "illumination", "insight", "discovery".

Some more amazing examples when intuition helped make discoveries: the German chemist Friedrich Kekule, seeing a wriggling snake, completely unexpectedly deduced the formula of benzene, and the English engineer Samuel Brown, looking at the cobweb, figured out how to create a suspension bridge.

HELP OF THE GODS

At the moment of the highest creative upsurge, the presence and help of gods, muses, “geniuses”, demons, “six-winged Seraphim”, “voices” and other supernatural subjects are felt.

For example, Descartes believed that a divine revelation descended on him - he fell on his knees and began to pray when the idea of creating analytic geometry came to him.

In the nineteenth century, the religious-mystical was replaced by a psychological explanation of the phenomenon. The place of God and the muses was taken by something "unconscious".

Many considered these flashes of insight to be a miracle, magic, but modern scientists have found a reasonable explanation for this - the so-called intuition of decisions worked.

It turns out that when a person is carried away by some problem or task, he continues to ponder it even in those moments when thoughts are occupied by another. And at such moments, one hint is enough for him, a small detail, sometimes irrelevant (as in the case of a snake or a cobweb) - and the decision comes by itself.

FEELINGS

There is so-called everyday intuition, which is well known to many of us. Often it manifests itself in those minutes when you meet a person. Or rather, in the very first minute of acquaintance. This time is enough to "scan" a person, to compose his psychological portrait. And here it is important to listen to your inner voice, because often he speaks the truth.

For example, you are introduced to a new employee, they say that she is the nicest person. And your sixth sense suggests that her cuteness is feigned. And now you get closer to her, invite her into your house, reveal secrets, although you do not leave the feeling that something is wrong in the relationship. And soon it turns out that the fears were not in vain: she is actively flirting with your husband, telling him nasty things about you. And if you listened to your intuition, you would maintain a business relationship with her and keep your distance.

Often, intuition manifests itself in those cases when you or your loved ones are in trouble (health, family, work). You have probably heard a lot of stories about how people, obeying their inner voice, refused to travel to distant countries, handed over flight tickets, intuitively went to the doctor with a problem - and it turned out that it was just in time - thus they avoided unpleasant situations and even disasters.

Few can boast of a keen intuition. But in moments of severe stress, in the period of falling in love (and in women and during pregnancy), a sixth sense awakens.

EXTREME

Which intuition is stronger - women or men? Experts disagree. Intuition is well developed in young children - logic does not bother them yet. For a long time it was believed that logic is the strong point of men, and intuition is inherent in women.

But recent studies have shown that men can compete with women in terms of "clairvoyance": the participants in the experiment were asked to identify sincere and fake smiles in the photo. Ladies calculated 71% of insincere smiles, and men 72%. So the stronger sex not only showed the presence of developed intuition, but even slightly surpassed the weak.

Trying to develop the sixth sense, do not go to extremes, you should not rely solely on intuition. She can be wrong too. And nobody canceled the logic! The surest method in making decisions is to use all the reserves of the body and use them depending on the situation - this way you will insure yourself against many mistakes.

How best to act in a given situation, intuition will tell. The main thing is to apply it correctly.

- Thinking about the problem, try to “turn off” the logic for a while and listen to what the sixth sense tells you.

- Take a closer look at the drawings that you do unknowingly while talking on the phone. The abundance of sharp corners should alert you - parapsychologists interpret such drawings as a warning of danger.

- If the phone rings, don't pick up the phone right away, try to guess who is calling.

- Racking your head over some question, do not rush to answer. Wait until the next day if possible. It is no coincidence that they say that the morning is wiser than the evening. Our thoughts take on a finished form only after a good rest and sound sleep.

- Learn to recognize the signals that your body sends you. For example, you have an important meeting, but everything goes awry that day: I slept, I was not well, I got stuck in the elevator, the car broke down - maybe this is an important sign? Be extremely careful this day.
