Photos with ghosts periodically appear on the World Wide Web, taken the day before by someone who managed to meet the devilry in an abandoned hospital, in a cemetery, or just at home. However, there is another kind of pictures with phantoms, which deserves no less attention.
Ghosts in old photographs
We are talking about old photos, in which guests from the other world were not noticed in time due to inattention. Only after many years, people, sorting through such photographs or showing them to relatives, notice strange frightening details in the pictures taken long ago, which, it would seem, simply should not be there.
For example, an American visitor to the social news resource "Reddit" posted such an image in the section of the site "Creepy" dedicated to the paranormal. A user under the pseudonym robot_destroyer shared with the Internet community a picture taken by her friend more than fifteen years ago. The photograph shows an American woman and her teenage sister playing with their dog on the porch of a house.
Nothing out of the ordinary, many of us would think. The author of the publication also believed so, periodically bumping into this picture all these years. Nevertheless, the other day she looked at the image more closely and suddenly noticed that at the time of shooting, someone's head with a terrible expression was looking at the girls right from the house through the glass door. Apparently, someone was there, and the height of the intruder is very low. You might think that this is an angry child.

Here is what robot_destroyer wrote: “I looked at my sister's and my baby photos a few days ago and focused my attention on the details. I always liked the photo, because it captures our English Mastiff Elliot, whom we all loved very much and who we still miss very much. Looking at the photo, I suddenly saw something eerie. Someone was behind the glazed back door! I remember very well that my father was at work at that moment, and my mother went to the supermarket for groceries. Only my sister and I and our friend remained. It was she who photographed Elliot and me."
According to the author, she showed the find to her sister, and she confirmed that no one could be in the house at the time of the shooting. The American women came to the conclusion that it was a ghost. Fortunately, they moved out of that house a long time ago with their parents. “Maybe it's a phantom of a boy who died there,” suggests robot_destroyer.
Those Reddit users who did not believe in the presence of the ghost in the picture thought it was a pareidolic illusion - they say, there was some kind of clothes hanger near the door, and its outlines turned out to be like an evil child for the human eye. But there were other commentators, one of whom, for example, made a very interesting suggestion. Since very often such phantoms for some reason are noticed in old photographs only after many years, is it not wiser to assume that nothing of the kind was in the photograph at the time of development. And only later, for some reason unknown to us, creepy ghosts appear in photographs. Moreover, they seem to make people look at their old pictures and find there something that was not there before.
Well, an interesting theory, but how can you check that such an assumption has at least some real basis?..
