The golden-haired god of Ancient Greece Apollo loved to rest in the country of Hyperborea, where the legendary people lived, who were in eternal bliss and close to the gods. Oddly enough, but Hyperborea was located … in the Far North, although it had never known winter. In his chariot drawn by white swans, Apollo was carried away to the country of the Hyperboreans and only returned to Delphi in the spring. As you know, myths don't lie. They serve as a poetic source of information about the affairs and events of bygone days.
Journey of Vladimir Vize
Twice in 1910-1911, while still a student, Vladimir Vize (later an outstanding polar explorer, professor, laureate of the Stalin Prize, who received the Great Gold Medal of the Geographical Society of the USSR) visited the Kola Peninsula with an expedition. The young scientist roamed with the Lapps (the Sami people), described their ritual sites and signs on the stones - seids. The first two scientific works of Wiese (out of 400 in various fields of earth sciences!) - "Lopar music" and "Lopar seids" are devoted to the Sami culture.
Walking through the Luyavrurt mountain range, which rises among the tundra in the center of the Kola Peninsula, beyond the Arctic Circle, Vize discovered a lot of interesting things. Translated from the language of the Sami, the indigenous inhabitants of these places, the word "Luyavrurt" means "Mountains by a stormy lake." These mountains are relatively low, but it is not possible to cross them in all places. Outside, the massif is dotted along the perimeter with mountain circuses - side craters. Inside it is a huge depression and a wonderful, full of fish, sacred lake Seydyavr (Seydozero).
Vize conducted field research in the tundra, discovered a number of lakes and described the life of the local population. Somewhere here, according to legend, there was a mysterious ancient country, traces of which, perhaps, the scientist came across on the way. The researcher described giant rock sculptures, natural bas-reliefs and images on sheer cliffs, pyramidal stone columns. He noted the unusual relief of the massif and its uniqueness in the richness and variety of minerals (over 500 species). Since then, the site has attracted close attention from geologists, historians and other scientists.
Finds of Alexander Barchenko

In August 1922, a special expedition of Professor Alexander Vasilyevich Barchenko, a writer, doctor and occultist who studied paranormal phenomena, went to Luyavrurt. Barchenko was looking for repositories of the technogenic and cultural achievements of the ancient civilization of the Hyperboreans. The expedition members returned to Petrograd in the late autumn of 1922. At the meeting of the geographical section of the society "Mirovedenie" the report "In the land of fairy tales and sorcerers" was presented. It told about the amazing finds made by the expedition. And after a while the newspapers published images of mysterious monuments and a sensational interview with the leader of the expedition: “Until now, the Lapps of Russian Lapland honor the remains of prehistoric religious centers and monuments,surviving in the corners of the region inaccessible to culture penetration … with the remains of colossal sacred images, prehistoric clearings in virgin taibol (more often), with half-collapsed underground passages-trenches that protected the approaches to the sacred Lake Seydyavr. Local Lapps are extremely unfriendly to attempts to examine interesting monuments more thoroughly … they warned that approaching the statues would entail all sorts of misfortunes on our heads and theirs."
On February 19, 1923, Krasnaya Gazeta reported to its readers: "Professor Barchenko discovered the remains of ancient cultures dating back to a period earlier than the era of the birth of Egyptian civilization."
True, Barchenko also found opponents. When another expedition visited the Kola Peninsula and examined the mysterious stone figure of the "Old Man" from the photograph, it turned out that it was "nothing more than weathered dark layers in a sheer cliff, resembling a human figure from afar." And about the stone "pyramid", which served as one of the main arguments in favor of the existence of an ancient civilization, the members of the expedition wrote: "We came close. An ordinary stone swelling on a mountain top presented itself to the eyes. The conclusions that debunked all the discoveries of Alexander Barchenko were published immediately after the end of the expedition by the Murmansk newspaper Polyarnaya Pravda. At the same time, the editorial office of the newspaper in its commentary rather caustically characterized the messages of the Barchenko group as “hallucinations,brought under the guise of a new Atlantis into the minds of gullible citizens of the mountains. Petrograd ".
Disastrous changes
Subsequently, expeditions of geologists, topographers, cartographers, geophysicists, hydrometeorologists, drillers and ideological fighters against shamans were sent to Luyavrurt methodically, one after another. By their "united efforts" all traces of the ancient civilization, if they existed, were quickly swept away and destroyed. Only somewhere in the mountains, something else has been preserved. For example, a mysterious gigantic 70-meter figure of the Sami spirit of Nuiva - the same "Old Man" - on a 500-meter sheer cliff.
On the newly compiled maps, instead of Luyavrurt and Seydyavr, their new names appeared - Lovozero Tundra and Seydozero.
In Luyavrurt, expeditions are still working, wishing to find evidence of the existence of caves - repositories of the ancient knowledge of Hyperborea. Recently, information flashed in the press that one of the entrances to the caves was allegedly found, but no confirmation of this followed.
Permanent sentries
There is a rather fantastic version that the entrances to the storage caves are inaccessible to modern researchers, because the knowledge of Hyperborea is guarded by relict hominoids. It seems that these creatures appeared on Earth before people, were always much smarter, much stronger than humans and possessed paranormal abilities. It is said that more than 10 cases of encounters with hominoids in the Luyavrurt massif are known. In the summer of 1997, two mountain guides allegedly collided with one of them, refining the map of the area and taking photographs of a new tourist route. In one of the gorges, at a distance of about 250 meters, they saw some strange creature. According to their description, a gigantic, almost four-meter creature walked easily and freely along the bottom of the canyon, slightly throwing its legs out to the sides. His head was held high, his arms hanging freely along the body. The whole figure radiated strength and power. However, it is not clear why the people holding photographic equipment did not record this sensational meeting on film.
According to the psychics who visited Luyavrurt, the entrances to the underground storages are closed by some kind of energy barrier, and perhaps there, deep below, is an underground alien base.
Riddles of this kind always attract lovers of secrets and everything unknown. Ufologist Vadim Chernobrov also visited Luyavrurt with a lot of ingenious devices. According to him, he discovered a mysterious stone cube and two UFO landings here.
But the main goal of the expedition "Hyperborea-97", headed by Doctor of Philosophy Valery Demin, was not only to confirm or deny the data of Alexander Barchenko, but still find traces of the ancestral home of mankind - Hyperborea. The members of the expedition assured that they had confirmed the existence of artifacts discovered by Barchenko and captured them on film: a two-kilometer paved road leading across the isthmus from Lovozero to Seyidozero, pyramidal stones; the image of a giant black figure on a sheer cliff. Near the snow, the "Hyperboreans" found some ruins: the remains of defensive structures, weathered and a thousand times ironed by avalanches, giant slabs of regular geometric shape, ancient steps leading somewhere "into the darkness of centuries", an abandoned well, a "page" of a stone manuscript with a trident sign and a flowerresembling a lotus. It seems that the expedition even stumbled upon the remains of an ancient observatory with a 15-meter chute leading up to the sky, to the stars, with two viewers - below and above … Skeptical opponents believe that researchers are simply wishful thinking. Well, which of them is right, time will tell …
Unique place
According to many interested parties, the once erupted lava flow of the ancient volcano in Luyavrurt is an ideal conductor for the energy of the Earth. They say that in this place there is a powerful zone for the release of biogenic (positive) energy. The healing power of Seydyavr has long been used by shamans when treating people and conducting their religious rituals. It is believed that patients who accidentally get here quickly recover. Rare plants and animals are found in the mountains and forests of Luyavrurt. If you wear sunglasses, at a height of half a kilometer you can see an unusual rainbow glow around the sun. And on winter nights, fantastic in shape, dynamics and color are observed aurora borealis, including the rarest one in the form of a blossoming flower.
