In 2006, I worked as an instructor for mountaineering tourism in the national park of the Republic of Bashkortostan. This is where this amazing story happened.
After one route, I had to drive a herd of 15 horses back to the starting point (the tourists then had a different program, without a horse route). Either because of our fatigue, or because of carelessness, but during the ferry one mare and her foal were lost.
We noticed this only after 10 kilometers and decided: the partner drives the herd further (fortunately, about five kilometers left to the corral), and I go back in search of a mare and a foal.
I found them in the thick of the forest. The foal got entangled in the thorny bushes and could not get out on its own, the mother stood nearby. While I was looking for them, while I was freeing the foal, it began to get dark. It was not worth going back in the dark, I had to think about spending the night in the forest. There was an old forest hut nearby, in which I decided to stay.
I had to call my partner and warn that everything is fine, I just stay overnight. I knew that there was communication only on the high side of the ridge. I tied the horses to a tree and went up the mountain.
While climbing the slope, I experienced a strange feeling of uneasiness, as if feeling someone's eyes on me.
I got to my goal, called, began to go downstairs. But in the place where I left the horses, they were not. The grass around the tree is trampled, but there are no animals. Maybe they untied and left? But they could not go far in half an hour. I began to look for them, but it was all in vain.
I decided to go to the hut to spend the night, and in the morning to continue the search.

I walked back through the same clearing - and could not believe my eyes. Horses quietly grazed by that very tree on a leash! I went over and checked the knots - exactly the same as I knitted. How could it happen that the animals disappeared, and after a while reappeared? The nearest village is 30 kilometers away, so no one could play a trick on me.
This case remained a mystery to me. And when I remember him, I cannot explain it otherwise than as devilry. Or maybe my horses moved to some parallel universe for a while and then came back?
