Basilisk is a legendary denizen of mythology that can look like a giant venomous snake or a creature with the body of a snake. With its wings and a rooster crest on its head, this monster wielded a powerful weapon of mass destruction. However, other people from the legends were distinguished by similar skills.
Basilisk is a terrible animal, famed for its incredible abilities, in particular the ability to kill its victims with just one glance. But we are wondering if there could be something like that … for example, alien?
In his Natural History, Pliny the Elder portrays the Basilisk as a deadly snake that lived in North Africa. The snake is described as "no more than twelve fingers in length." The term "Basilisk" comes from "basilikos", which means "little king" in Greek and refers to the crown that the basilisk has on its head.
Basilisk - a monster from fairy tales
Legends telling about this mystical creature say that it is not only a “killer with a glance”, he can break stones with his breath, and even set fire to trees! Yes, the Basilisk was able to exhale so powerfully that it turned the environment into a desert eaten by fire!
Pliny says that if a person goes to kill a Basilisk with a spear, then he must be very careful, since the poison of an incredible creature can climb up the spear shaft and kill the hunter. But of course this does not mean that the legendary creature cannot be killed and the Basilisk is almost immortal.
By a strange whim of nature, the creature of ancient Greek mythology could not stand the smell of a ferret. And to kill the Basilisk, he could be lured into a trap by catching a weasel inside the lair or throwing the animal into the Basilisk's own dwelling. In addition, the monster's immediate death is borne by its own gaze, reflected in the mirror and "caught" by it.

Information about the origin of the Basilisk was lost in the depths of history, retaining only some strange and muddy descriptions. Similar in features to a rooster, the basilisk appeared either from a snake or a toad, or was the result of a chicken egg hatched by a toad or a snake. However, the original version of the origin of the basilisk, in fact, speaks of a giant snake.
Unknown beast, Unicorn
It is believed that there are many different types of unicorns depending on their species. Ctesias described a type of Indian unicorn resembling a donkey with a dark red head, blue eyes and a white body with a 30 cm long horn.

Almost everyone agrees with the assumption that the unicorn's horn is considered a magical item. Simply put, his horn is a real artifact: a medieval tale tells how the Unicorn once put the tip of the horn in the water of a pond, making the reservoir transparent and drinkable.

Rarely, wyverns are believed to possess the ability to breathe fire, an implanted weapon for defense and attack. This creature is associated with ice and cold weather, and can have poisonous saliva - the name is taken from the Old French "wivre", which means "viper".
Ouroboros is an old symbol of the dragon, or snake that devours its own tail. It symbolizes cyclicality, eternal return and self-re-creation - a vivid demonstration of the mechanism of advanced bioengineering. It all looks as if the creation of bioengineering was specially bred as a loyal and powerful assistant to the warrior.

Perhaps we have just looked at folk tales, but take a closer look at the Basilisk - this is a real combat vehicle with a flamethrower and a laser on board, isn't it? Couldn't it be that in those legendary times of history, when aliens were noted on Earth, they left behind combat vehicles - the memory of which was entrenched in legends.
In the same way, under the note of the theory of ancient astronauts, we can see other inhabitants of mythology. For example, the Unicorn is clearly a carrier with an ultrasound device, which acts not only as a kind of stunning weapon, but also as an excellent means for disinfecting water. I think it makes no sense to describe the details of other creatures, the idea is clear and understandable.
In fact, in this view of the past, closely associated with aliens, there is no claim to the truth. Just amazing creatures appeared out of nowhere, and also disappeared without a trace on the crest of centuries. Probably, the alien technology has lost its ability to function - "fizzled out", so we did not meet them again.
