Since the beginning of the 18th century, when the Saransk-Krasnoslobodsk road was built in the vicinity, the Sivin ravines became famous, first of all, as a real robber's nest. The bandits robbed and killed passers-by and hid treasures here. This went on for almost two centuries in a row.
In the 1870s, according to the Krasnoslobodsk regional historians, the Sivin robbers robbed the wagon train, which was carrying a soldier's salary to Siberia for several years - 20 barrels of gold coins! The robbers did not divide the booty, killed each other, and the gold disappeared somewhere in a ravine. Since then, they have been tirelessly looking for him here, but so far to no avail.
In the 30s of the last century, a large camp was built in the ravines, where the so-called "enemies of the working people" were first imprisoned, and in the war - traitors and deserters.
In the 50s, the camp was closed, and since then people began to disappear in the ravines. Forever and ever. Even corpses are never found.
A full-flowing stream flows at the bottom of the ravine, but the water from it is not even used for livestock. “She is fat because she flows over the graves! There are so many robbers and innocent murdered here,”the local residents explain.
According to them, this place has a very bad energy, cries and groans are constantly heard. In the ravines, the state of health sharply deteriorates, it is impossible to stay here for a long time, if you stay for an "extra" minute and that's it - you won't come back, "the devil will twist", you will perish in the anomalous zone forever.
Nevertheless, the locals are often visited by adventure lovers, as well as treasure hunters who are haunted by barrels of gold that have not been found so far. They thoroughly X ask the old-timers for all the details of that famous robbery, ask them to draw a map of the area and then go in search.
True, most of them return to the villages on the same day, unable to withstand the terrible atmosphere of the Sivin ravines, while the rest hold on with their last strength, digging up the earth abundantly fertilized with human bones for the thousandth time and, completely exhausted, also leave with nothing. Local residents treat “extreme lovers” with understanding, but they don’t go to the guides for any money.
“I’m not going there with you! - said one of them to a visiting journalist from Penza. - Understand, time is wasted there! The clock rises. So many people have already disappeared.
