30% of Russian companies are actively implementing artificial intelligence. This is the highest figure among all the countries participating in the survey: on average in the world it is equal to 22.3%, - showed a study by Microsoft [1].

Russian leaders are using the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) for business more actively than their foreign counterparts, - this is the conclusion made by Microsoft experts, who presented the study "Business Leaders in the Age of AI". 30% of Russian leaders are actively introducing [2] artificial intelligence: the world average, this figure is 22.3%, and for example, in France - only 10%.

According to the authors of the survey, Russian leaders turned out to be more practical in the application of AI in business than their foreign counterparts. Among the top priorities for using AI were: setting the right goals (32%), developing business ideas (26%), identifying new market opportunities (25%), and decision making (23%).

Russian CEOs ranked second in terms of positive attitudes towards AI, with 73% of CEOs believing that technology would have a positive impact on their management performance. They also showed a significantly higher willingness to learn and develop new AI skills. 90% of them expressed a desire to receive professional support in order to work better and more efficiently with this technology; in the world this figure is 67.3%. Moreover, 30% of them are ready to allocate time to adapt to new working conditions. In the world, this figure is only 20.3%.

In addition, Russian business leaders are distinguished by a more responsible attitude towards the implementation of technology: 65% of them believe that the responsibility for the ethics of using AI lies with the head of the company. In the world, 53.9% of directors adhere to this point of view.

In addition, the study identified a link between the use of artificial intelligence and the company's growth rate. 40.6% of CEOs of fast-growing [3] companies around the world are actively adopting AI, while among slow-growing [4] companies this figure was more than half that and amounted to only 18.5%. Fast-growing companies have also expressed their readiness to implement AI in the foreseeable future: 93.2% of leaders of such organizations intend to use AI in decision-making within 1-3 years, in slow-growing companies 64% of leaders will do this only within 3-5 years.

[1] The survey involved 800 top managers from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, Great Britain, and the United States (sample - 100 respondents per country). Large companies with more than 250 employees were considered. The study was conducted from 18 to 27 January 2019.
