Tell me, where did some of our citizens get such a fierce desire to spoil and defame everything that relates to their country?

It has long been noted that none of the foreigners can compare in expressing anger and desire for evil in Russia, with some of its citizens - liberals (or, if you like, revolutionaries).

I want to immediately clarify my position - I do not consider myself a "hurray-patriot" and I will not "bite" into an opponent who has a different view of historical (and modern) events from mine. I prefer a balanced approach, not denying the bad, but also recognizing the good. And I don't like what has recently become fashionable in our country, in everything that relates to Russian (world, history, etc.), to emphasize (and often invent) negative, for greater effect, inflating it beyond all reasonable limits.

Combat losses in WWII

Often, you have to hear and read that the ratio of losses of the USSR and Germany to the allies in the Second World War was 1: 5, 1:10, or even 1:14. After that, conclusions follow about the inept leadership of the Red Army, the "low quality of human material", "bloody" commissars and special officers, the role of barrage detachments and, in general, the "filling up of corpses" of technically advanced and humanitarian (in relation to their own) German troops (or rather - united Europe).

It is pointless to argue - there was enough stupidity, arrogance and incompetence in the Red Army (especially in the first years of the Second World War). It is important to note here that all this was in abundance in the German Wehrmacht. And in support of this, the following statistics.

- The population of Germany at the beginning of the Second World War is 85 million people, of which more than 23 million are men of military age.

- The population of the USSR is 196.7 million people, including 48.5 million men of military age.

- Even without knowing anything about the real numbers of losses on both sides, it is easy to calculate that victory through the complete mutual destruction of the male population of draft age in the USSR and Germany is achieved with a loss ratio of 48.4 / 23 = 2 to 1, but not 10 to 1.

Incidentally, here we do not take into account the allies of the Germans. If we add them to these 23 million, then the ratio of losses becomes even less. It should be borne in mind that at the very beginning of the war, the Soviet Union lost large densely populated territories, so the real number of men of military age was even less.

Having studied various sources, one can be convinced that at present the approximate ratio of losses of the USSR / Germany is as follows: 11.5 - 12 million / 8.5 - 9 million people. This means that the upper limit of the ratio of irrecoverable combat losses of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht is the ratio of 1.3: 1. Here, those killed in captivity are not taken into account, since this characterizes humanity, not military skill.

In my opinion, we must not forget that the experience in military campaigns and industrial potential (read more: "World War II. A successful business project of the West?"), Were initially on the side of the Nazis.

What are the "Westerners" silent about

The question with the civilian population is more terrible: against 14.4 million people (the smallest number) of victims of the Second World War in the USSR / 3.2 million people (the largest number) of victims from the German side. For some reason, the liberal "revolutionaries" do not like to discuss these monstrous figures, apparently believing that you cannot "raise" a decent "hype" here.

It is believed that from 55 to 65% of military personnel and civilian Soviet citizens died in concentration camps, among Germans, the percentage of prisoners of war who died in camps (we did not drive civilian Germans to camps) is significantly less from 25 to 35% (depending on the side of the count).

To this must be added the millions of our fellow citizens (mainly women and children) who were forcibly taken to Germany for work.

Without denying the Holocaust of the Jews, German (and generally European) society still refuses to recognize the "Slavic" Holocaust.

You should not believe any "educators" who lie about our history - always look for opposite points of view and draw YOUR conclusions!
