Many people want to visit the Giza plateau, see the pyramids and the sphinx with their own eyes. These ancient structures still hide many secrets. From time to time, various secret rooms and tunnels are found in the pyramids. And the Great Sphinx sits on the "guard" of the pyramids. That's about the sphinx, and now we'll talk. Rather, about one of its features. I would say riddles, but the fact is that there is no riddle in the official history.
And so, the whole point is that there are hatches on the head and back of the sphinx, and there are also references to other passages inside the sphinx. Earlier, they say, there were six hatches and passages … Fans of alternative history claim that through these hatches one can get into the inner rooms of the Sphinx and they contain either "secret knowledge" or "unrewritten history". I even read somewhere that the "Grozny library" is hidden there. So let's figure out what these hatches are and what they are for.

The presence of "hatches" in the sphinx is also not refuted. Let's analyze the known official hatches in order according to the official history.
The hatch on the head was made at the beginning of the 20th century in order to hide a niche for attaching a headdress. And judging by the ancient Egyptian drawings, the headdress on the sphinx was changed several times. Unfortunately, none have survived. However, there is an assumption that the headdress of the sphinx was made of wood and trimmed with gold. The sphinx's head simply could not stand the stone "cap". Over the past centuries, the niche for attaching a headdress has increased due to erosion and treasure seekers and secret rooms, as a result, it had to be closed.

The next famous hatch is at the back of the sphinx. It is also noticeable in some aerial photographs. Well, we will not reject the version about secret rooms, any assumption has a chance to exist. What does the official history say? This hatch covers an eight-meter-long tunnel that was excavated in 1840 by explorers Weiss and Perring. For what purpose it was pierced is unknown. Perhaps they were expanding some kind of passage, or maybe they hoped to find the tomb of the pharaoh and his treasures.
Now let's move on to the less famous hatches and holes in the body of the sphinx.
Another walled up double passage is in the area of the sacrum at ground level. It was discovered by the expedition of E. Barez in 1925 - 1936 during the excavation of the sphinx from the sand. The passage ended in dead ends and after research it was walled up. At the end of the last century, it was once again opened and examined by scientists. Most likely it was made in ancient times by treasure hunters.

This is where the man-made "moves" into the sphinx end. The rest of the now sealed depressions are attributed to the erosion of the softer parts of the limestone.
At present, due to the dilapidated state of the sphinx, all studies of it have been discontinued.

So what are actually the hatches and passages in the body of the sphinx? Do they lead to secret rooms, or, as the official history says, were made after its construction?
