Traces of exposure to very high temperatures were found at the excavation site.

This is a meteorite

Excavations that are now going on in Jordan in the vicinity of Tal al-Hamman - just north of the Dead Sea - convince that it was here that the legendary cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God. What the Bible (Gen. 19) says the following:

"And the Lord rained down sulfur and fire from the Lord from heaven on Sodom and Gomorrah, and overthrew these cities, and all this neighborhood, and all the inhabitants of these cities …"

Before the blooming space turned into ashes and it was seen how "the smoke rises from the ground, like smoke from a furnace."

Researchers have no doubt: the biblical tradition can be trusted - Sodom and Gomorrah really suffered a nightmare fate. For several thousand years, something else has been interesting: what exactly happened?

American archaeologists from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque said they have found the answer to this question. They introduced their version to colleagues at the recent American Schools of Oriental Research conference, which was held in Denver, Colorado.

Archaeologists, led by Phillip Silvia, have unearthed the ruins of numerous structures. We looked closely at them and came to the conclusion that the local brick ones were swept away from their foundations, and the remaining fragments melted, forming pieces of glass interspersed with zircon crystals. This indicated that the structures had experienced the impact of a shock wave and high temperature. Archaeologists have found similar characteristic traces at the site of another 120 ancient "villages" located in the district.

The opinion of archaeologists: Sodom and Gomorrah, together with the surrounding cities and towns, destroyed a meteorite that fell more than 4 thousand years ago. With which their British colleagues-astronomers partly agree, with whose arguments Komsomolskaya Pravda detailed Sodom and Gomorrah in a recent material: scientists have found evidence that God exterminated local homosexuals with a blow from space

Ufologists do not agree with archaeologists and astronomers, who, of course, are also looking for those responsible for the biblical massacre. And they point out to their "colleagues" that the crater from the fall of the meteorite was not found. Therefore, the hypothesis about him is no better than the one that they have had for a long time. The first to say it was the famous Erich von Daniken - a supporter of otherworldly interference in earthly life. He suggested that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by a nuclear explosion. Who arranged it? Surely aliens. Or representatives of some highly developed civilization that existed in parallel with ours. And who else at that time could have owned nuclear weapons?

This is not a meteorite

Ufologists consider aliens to be mysterious men called angels - those who visited the righteous Lot before the disaster. Their essence was betrayed by supernatural abilities: the "angels" appeared as if from nowhere - they teleported, easily deprived the Sodom perverts who showed a desire to "know" them of sight. And they knew for sure that the city would be destroyed - literally by the hands they took Lot and his family out of it and sent them to hide in a safe place.

Lot and his daughters were advised to hide in a cave from the deadly radiation.

Ufologists in their own way understand the words from the Bible "The sun rose over the earth" - about how the massacre began with it. Like, it didn't dawn, but a flash from a nuclear explosion appeared.

And what is evidenced by the strange act of Lot, who first took refuge in the surviving city of Sigor, and then went to live in a cave?

The Bible says: "… for he was afraid to live in Seagora." And again: "… God … sent Lot out of the environment of destruction." Perhaps the cause was deadly radiation. Traces of it have naturally disappeared over many thousands of years. But more persistent remained.

The current finds of archaeologists - fused, bricks, clay shards, sand and rock - in fact, confirmed the seemingly fantastic hypothesis of a nuclear explosion.

By the way, something like "Sodom" came across on the ruins of the ancient Indian city of Mohenjo-Daro. From the Mahabharata - an epic narrative - it follows that it was destroyed “by the weapons of the gods. From which “… burned by the heat, the world reeled as in a fever. The elephants burst into flames from the heat and ran wildly to and fro in search of protection from the terrible force. The water became hot, the beasts died, the enemy was mowed down, and the fury of fire brought down the trees in rows. … The winds began to blow, and the Earth lit up. The dead bodies were mutilated by the terrible heat so that they no longer looked like people … the survivors did not live long: their hair, teeth and nails fell out … ".

If you don't pay attention to the elephants, then what happened is very reminiscent of Hiroshima …

Josephus Flavius, the authoritative Roman historian of the 1st century AD, known for his testimonies of the existence of Jesus Christ, after thousands of years personally visited the site of the disaster. And then he wrote: "… Even to this day, you can see some remnants of heavenly fire and traces of five cities …"

Some enthusiasts consider this translation of the historian's testimony to be not entirely correct. And it is believed that it would be much more accurate to translate not "traces of five cities", but "shadows of five cities." Which makes the hypothesis of a nuclear explosion even more realistic.

For example, the famous modern researcher and naturalist Yevgeny Arsyukhin, having familiarized himself with the meteorite version of American scientists, pointed out to them that there is no crater, and the testimony of Joseph Flavius, and the fact that "shadows" remain during a nuclear strike from instantly evaporated objects … They found this in Hiroshima.

In other words, the shadows of the meteorite would hardly have remained.

- There is, of course, the likelihood that the meteorite exploded in the air, like the Tunguska, and destroyed the cities not by itself, but by the radiant force of the explosion and the shock wave, - says Evgeny. - But, to call a spade a spade, what the archaeologists have found does not look like a meteorite, but looks like a nuclear strike.

Another question is, why did the aliens bomb Sodom and Gomorrah? Is it really just because the local "informals" wanted to "omit" them? The clearly non-symmetrical "answer" casts doubt on the extraterrestrial version. But there are no sensible explanations from ufologists.

The "highly developed", of course, could detonate an atomic bomb, say, at war with each other. But where did the winners go then? Also a mystery.

Maybe you should unconditionally believe the Bible? And do not dig where God got the sulfur and fire to punish sinners. Spilled it somehow. "Is there anything difficult for the Lord?" (Gen. 18), - he said himself, albeit on a different occasion.
