A resident of India, Ram Gopal Patel, chopped off his penis with an ax in order to expel evil spirits from the house. The Daily Mail reports.
According to the 39-year-old man, something was going on in the house: "things were constantly rattling and shutters creaking," and his family was haunted by setbacks. Then he decided to turn to 19-year-old sorcerer Rajesh Yadav. He advised Patel to sacrifice his son, and then "evil spirits will leave the family alone."
When the teenager returned home from school, Patel and Yadava hit the boy hard on the head, stunning him. Then they took the ax and performed the ceremony. The bleeding child was left on the floor. Without regaining consciousness, he died.
The boy's mother called the police. According to the inconsolable woman, "evil spirits have clouded the mind" of her husband. The child's father and sorcerer are arrested on murder charges. They will be in custody pending trial in December.
As the newspaper notes, in 2015 in India 135 people became victims of witchcraft practices.
