An ominous twilight reigns in the depths of the pyramid - the tunnel is dimly lit by dim lamps. One labyrinth turns into another, twisting in spirals. The underground corridors stretch for 8-10 km. The clearing is proceeding gradually and has been going on without interruption for five years - volunteers have to hammer in the earth and limestone. It's cold, steam comes out of my mouth. Water drips from above. A beam of light from the flashlight hits a stone - runes and symbols resembling the letters E and Y are carved on it.
“We found the boulder not long ago,” the archaeologist explains, adjusting his Indiana Jones hat. - It is believed that the runes - the writing of the ancient Germans - belong to the 1st century. BC e. And this stone, according to the analysis, is older than the Egyptian pharaohs. How could he get to the very depths of the dungeons? Now look to the left where the flat slab is. One to one - the altar of the Stone Age temples in Malta. My colleagues, scientists from the Universities of Milan and Trieste, suggest that the Pyramid of the Sun was built in total … a thousand years! But the main question is different: who were these builders?
51-year-old Semir Osmanagich is a Doctor of Sociology at the University of Sarajevo and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. In 2005, after a series of studies, he announced: the wooded mountain near the city of Visoko (30 km from the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina) is in fact an ancient 220-meter pyramid, built by an unknown civilization about 40 thousand years ago!
Archaeological excavations began a year later. Almost immediately it was possible to establish that the mountain consists of huge stone blocks (2-3 m in height), steps lead to its top, a road paved with paving stones at the foot, and terraces cut down in the depths. Osmanagich said at a press conference: in total, in the valley near Visoko, they managed to find five pyramids, once built by ancient architects in honor of the Sun, the Moon and the unknown deity of the Dragon. All buildings are interconnected by a network of underground tunnels.
“They explain to us from school: there are no white spots left in history, this is simply impossible,” Osmanagich smiles, dragging me further into the depths of the pyramid. - But can we talk about what was happening on the planet 20-30 thousand years ago, even if there are disputes between historians about the Second World War? God forbid, our civilization will be destroyed by natural disasters - other people who will later populate the Earth will also not know anything about us, believing that only mammoths used to live here.

After the start of excavations at Visoko, the scientific world split in half. And rightly so, without proof it is very difficult to believe that for thousands of years in the middle of Europe there were pyramids of an unknown civilization, and no one paid attention to them. Even the Ministry of Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which initially supported Osmanagic, quarreled with him in 2007, issuing an official statement: they say, there really are pyramids of stone, but they were created "in the course of a natural formation, without human participation." Osmanagich, in response, sent a landing of specialists from all over the world to Visoko - both Italian professors and the famous Egyptologist Nabil Abdel-Svelim. He, having visited the excavations with an inspection, said in the report: the natural formation has not been proven, nature does not form steps and terraces - in fact,"The pyramid of the Sun is the largest building in the world and is 30 m in height more than the pyramid of Cheops."
Scientific battles continue: someone calls the doctor from Sarajevo a hoaxer, someone - a genius of archeology. I will say one thing: from the inside, the pyramid is really impressive; hundreds of volunteers from all over the world work on its excavations. Semir Osmanagich personally took me through the underground labyrinths - he is sure that there were whole cities deep in the pyramids. It is especially worth noting: while digging the ground, the volunteers do not find any remains. No people, no animals, not even dead insects. Worms - and those are not found there. Osmanagich believes: this is evidence of a natural cataclysm that burned down the Visoko pyramids from the inside. The inhabitants of a mysterious civilization left the valley, just as the Mayan Indians fled from their cities in the Yucatan for some unknown reason.
Meanwhile, you understand: all the pyramids of the world are made according to the same scheme. The four sides of the "miracle" Visoko in Bosnia are oriented to the west, east, north and south, with the northern part directed to the Pole Star - just like the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico.
In addition to the stone with carved runes, during the excavations, pillars and slabs with strange ornaments were found. So what civilization, many thousands of years ago, was capable of erecting such hulks right in the middle of Europe?
“I've been researching the pyramids for many years,” explains Dr. Osmanagich, shining a flashlight. - I can say: even in Egypt, some scientists do not recognize the official point of view that the pyramids were tombs. There is no explanation how such gigantic structures were manually built in Ancient Egypt without mortar, construction cranes? There are pyramids all over the world - not only in Egypt, Peru and Mexico. There are others - step pyramids on the island of Tenerife in Africa, in Mauritius, in Indonesia, an underwater pyramid near Taiwan.
It turns out that these structures covered the entire planet. Who did they belong to and, most importantly, what did they serve?
According to the assumption of the ancient Greek historian Herodotus, who was the first to describe the pyramids of Egypt, about 100 thousand slaves were involved in the construction. Most of them died. Now the conclusions of Herodotus are refuted by modern scientists: slave labor could not create pyramids. There are many versions, but who exactly were the builders is unknown.
- The pyramids in Egypt, Mexico, China are identical according to the construction scheme, - said Dr. Osmanagich. - These are regular geometrical figures, facing north, towards the main heavenly bodies. Why were they built? Already in the 30s. XX century Egyptologists of the British Museum have established that pyramids have a special energy. An ordinary souvenir pyramid, if you cover raw meat with it, keeps it fresh longer. The sharpened razor under the pyramid will stay sharp all week. It is possible that ancient civilizations built pyramids to obtain energy - and these structures then worked as modern power plants.
This opinion is supported by independent researchers of the pyramids, including the Briton Christopher Dunn, the author of the book "Giza Power Plant" - this is the name of the suburb of Cairo, where the Cheops pyramid is located. Dunn published a photo of labyrinths in the Giza dungeons and drawings of ancient circuits resembling engines, proving that the pyramids gave more energy than a nuclear reactor (!).
In 2007, scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences came to Bosnia, including Academician Oleg Khavroshkin, a world-renowned specialist in geodetic research of pyramids. In his report, he pointed out: “Spectral analysis of noise near the pyramid of the Sun and the pyramid of the Moon indicates the existence of hidden cavities. Seismics of all structures revealed their features, in part similar to those of the Egyptian pyramids, including focusing the signal along the base-top path ….
That is, according to scientists, under the main pyramids all over the world there are underground labyrinths, and the pyramids themselves emit weak, but still energy. Can it be said that ancient civilizations actually operated underground? What prevented them from going outside?
“I don’t know this,” Osmanagich shrugs. - Maybe radiation, maybe cold climate. I got the strong impression that, probably, before the ice age, there were several civilizations of different levels of development on the planet. Judging by the temples and figurines, they had deities, there were palaces for rulers, there were similarities of power plants - in the form of pyramids. I do not exclude that they even fought with each other. Don't believe me? Just imagine: if a meteorite hits the Earth, what will be left of our civilization? Yes, the same pyramids. We have not built anything that will last for centuries. Skyscrapers, TV towers, metro stations - all this will turn to dust. But the pyramids - they will stand forever …
Swiss explorer Erich von Daniken, who published his 1968 bestseller Chariots of the Gods? (the documentary "Memories of the Future" based on this book was very popular in the USSR), insists on the version that all the pyramids on Earth were built by aliens from other planets. He published a host of documents, including images of "astronauts" on the Nazca plateau in Peru and inside one of the pyramids in Guatemala. After the publication of the first photographs of the surface of Mars, von Daniken said: "The Martian pyramids are similar to the Egyptian ones." However, almost no one is seriously considering his hypothesis.
If the pyramid of the Sun in Bosnia was erected by an ancient civilization, the question remains: how did the builders manage to move and stack stone blocks, each weighing 40 tons? During the excavations, Osmanagich's team did not find any construction equipment, even the most primitive.
Opponents of the "theory of the Bosnian pyramids", in particular the professor of archeology Curtis Runnel from Boston, believe that there could not be such structures in the Balkans, since before 12,000 BC. the territory of Europe was covered with glaciers. However, Osmanagich's associates, for example, professor-anthropologist Paolo Debertolis, refute this right off the bat: the glaciers did not touch Bosnia and the Adriatic Sea - the air temperature near the coast was only five degrees lower than the current one and, therefore, suitable for the construction of human civilizations.
… Semir Osmanagich and I are leaving the pyramid. He goes on to say, “Did you feel tingling in your fingers? These are electrical waves - the energy hits like that. Excavations are going on for 340 thousand hours, every month we are advancing more and more - recently we discovered grotto rooms”.
The Ministry of Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina refused to fund the work, but donations to Osmanagic come from all over the world. “Who does that? Snorts Dr. Sara Acunci from the University of Milan. - We came from the ministry for 15 minutes and diagnosed it as a natural pyramid. If only they would enter the tunnel."
It is already clear: the disputes around the pyramids will continue and it is unlikely that any of the opponents will win. After all, some cannot find evidence that it was. And others - what was not …
