Scientists from Brazil, the United States, Peru and Puerto Rico said urban dwellers lack the germs and bacteria that support the immune system. Because of this, people living in the city are more likely to get sick.

An international team of experts from Brazil, the United States, Peru and Puerto Rico shared their latest research with reporters. It turned out that residents of large cities are more likely to suffer from various diseases due to the fact that their immune system becomes very weak over time. This information was published by Science Advances.

According to experts, the organisms of people living in the city contain too few microorganisms that have a positive effect on immunity to viruses and infections. To confirm their assumptions, scientists studied the living conditions of citizens whose homes are located in the countryside, city and Amazon Valley. Later, experts analyzed the information received and came to the conclusion that there are only "human" bacteria in the apartments of urban residents, the accumulation of which indicates problems with ventilation. At the same time, there were too few bacteria and microbes of natural origin there.
