Over the past 11 years (since 2007), 14 human feet in boots or sneakers have been found on the shores of British Columbia (Canada). Until now, this mystery has not been solved and it is not known where these feet came from, where are the rest of the body and what or who took their life.
The last foot was found on the east coast of Vancouver Island. A casual passer-by was walking along the beach last Sunday and found a shoe with a human foot inside. At the moment, criminologists are engaged in it and there are no details on the case yet.
According to studies of the previous 13 feet, seven of them were found to match the DNA of the missing persons, but 6 people remain unidentified.
It is also assumed that these people were not killed and they died as a result of accidents or suicides, and the corpses were carried away into the ocean, and then, with the decomposition of the body, parts of the limbs were torn off and hit the shore. It is also unclear why only feet hit the shore.
However, there is a version that the shoe-sneaker could interfere with the decomposition of the flesh and therefore the feet were preserved, but other parts of the body were not. But then it turns out that people were without clothes? Or the boots turned out to be stronger and more buoyant than fabric.
Some researchers still suggest that this is all the work of a mysterious serial killer.
Sometimes a greater number of found feet are reported, as at least two "fakes" were found and one more foot turned out to be a pair to another foot found earlier. Another foot was found wrapped in a black bag, which makes it impossible to separate it from a corpse in the ocean. Also from the general list is often excluded a foot in a boot, found at a dog walking area. If the list includes all more or less suitable finds, then the total number of feet will be 19.
Several of the feet were male, several were female, there is one foot of a girl (or petite woman) and another of a teenager of unknown gender.

Prior to finding last Sunday, the last mysterious foot found was a foot discovered in December 2017. As follows from the diagram released at the same time, most often the severed / cut off feet were found on the shore near the city of Surrey, where 4 feet were found. Elsewhere in British Columbia, 1-2 feet were found.
Investigations are complicated by the fact that the feet may have been brought by the current from very distant places. Any of the feet could even swim 1000 miles (1600 km).
After the fifth unidentified foot was found on the shores of British Columbia, the world media is watching this case very closely, detailing each new find and offering many versions of the incident. But the matter has not moved much forward.
