They are always dressed in black, while their suits sometimes look dirty, unkempt and wrinkled, and sometimes new and perfectly clean. Black hats and sunglasses are their constant companions. They have dark skin and Asian features. They speak monotonously, with mechanical intonations, and sometimes a strange, difficult to define accent is mixed with their speech. They move in groups of two or three people, sometimes alone, and pay visits to those who have had a chance to encounter the UFO phenomenon.

Those whom they visit begin to feel weak, fall ill and do not get out of bed for several days. They are seen more and more often, but they continue to remain a mystery.

The first person to talk about the mysterious "men in black" was Albert Bender, head of the International Bureau of UFO Research. However, a Brief Historical Excursion shows that the rugs of mysterious and not too friendly people, dressed in black clothes, can be traced in almost all centuries and in all cultures. In biblical times in Central Asia, legends arose about strange men in dark clothes and black turbans who, for unknown reasons, tried to lure people into the desert. In Central and Southern Europe in the Middle Ages, people were very afraid of men who wandered on the roads, dressed in black clothes, who, according to the beliefs of that time, drank the blood of people and animals. The folklore of many countries is full of stories about black spirits creating chaos in the human world and causing us all kinds of trouble.

The fact that, according to the descriptions of eyewitnesses, these strange creatures have a swarthy walk and Asian facial features, seems especially interesting in light of the ancient myth prevalent in Tibet, China and India, about some highly developed race, temporarily hiding underground and sometimes sending their representatives dressed in black, to observe and, possibly, influence the processes taking place in society. In the future, according to the myth, this race will again, as once, dominate the Earth (this myth is known as the "Master of the World"). The Indians were also very much afraid of the insidious "black people" who were believed to be lured into the forest with the worst intentions.

Obviously, Men in Black began to appear long before Bender described them, and nevertheless he did something that no one had thought of doing before him: he tried to explain the motives behind the appearance of Men in Black. And according to him, they appear in order to dissuade eyewitnesses who saw UFOs, to testify and tell about what they saw. Nowadays, demonic "men in black" are one of the strangest and most mysterious components of the UFO phenomenon. The first report was written by Albert Bender in September 1993. Bender, in his own words, was approached by three men dressed in black suits, and asked him to quit the ufological studies conducted by the experts of the bureau and Bender personally. If, of course, he wants to stay alive and well. After a while, Bender really gave up all his research, closed the bureau, stopped publishing the Space Review magazine and completely moved away from ufology, but this did not stop the “people in black”, as the public's interest in the UFO phenomenon grew, as the level of equipment of the population with photo and video cameras increased, the number of eyewitnesses grew, with their own eyes, who saw and captured on film “flying saucers and humanoids. And "men in black" began to appear more and more often …

Folklorist Peter Rozhevich, who undertook to investigate this mysterious phenomenon, revealed to the world several very strange facts concerning the "people in black". A typical meeting with them goes like this: shortly or, as a rule, immediately after contact (say, visual) with a UFO, an eyewitness is visited by several strange men posing as employees of one of the government organizations. “Agents”, as a rule, are not only perfectly aware of what exactly the witness saw, but also perfectly familiar with the facts from his life. They warn, intimidate, threaten, forbid to talk about what they saw and almost always require photographs and films of the UFOs captured on them, as well as any objects, including soil samples, found at the UFO landing site. They can appear at work or at home even before the person has had time to officially declare thatthat he has any. Their awareness is amazing, but where exactly they get their information from remains a mystery.

Where the “people in black” come from and where they disappear after completing the “task” remains a mystery that haunts the minds of researchers. By the way, the American government officially recognizes the existence of "men in black", which is confirmed by a special memorandum issued on March 1, 1967. But even the involvement of the American special services in the investigation could not shed light on the mysterious strangers. The only thing we can be sure of is that their presence makes the UFO phenomenon even more mysterious and incomprehensible.
