The CEO of the popular YouTube video service said yesterday that hosting representatives would soon begin to fight all sorts of videos promoting conspiracy theory and other conspiracy theories. According to Susan Wojicki, from now on, each such video will be accompanied by a link to an article from Wikipedia. Site moderators will have to attach these links to questionable videos.

The category of dubious and conspiracy materials will include, for example, videos related to different versions of the American September 11 attacks, stories about the flat shape of the planet, videos about the Illuminati, as well as videos that prove that NASA astronauts have never visited the moon.

However, according to Wojicki, the main problem for video hosting today is not a huge set of old conspiracy theories, but new conspiracy theories put forward against the backdrop of very recent historical events.

For example, when a wave of school murders swept across the United States, videos with unverified information about the causes of these incidents began to circulate on the network, which were gaining popularity even before official reports or reports appeared. This is what YouTube considers to be a serious problem hindering the normal development of the service.
