A small MU-2B plane disappeared from radar screens on its way from Puerto Rico to Florida. This was announced on Tuesday, May 16, by Reuters, citing the US Coast Guard.
There were four people on board - two adults and two children. According to The Sun, Skylight Group CEO Jennifer Blumin, her children ten and four years old, and family friend Nathan Ulrich were at the helm of the plane.
The aircraft took off from Puerto Rico on Monday at 11:00 local time (18:00 Moscow time), at about 14:00 (21:00 Moscow time), communication with it was lost. The plane was then located 60 kilometers from the Bahamas. At the time of the disappearance, the aircraft was at an altitude of more than seven thousand meters and was moving at a speed of about 555 kilometers per hour.
According to ABC7NY, the wreckage of the aircraft was found 24 kilometers east of Eleuthera Island, which is part of the Bahamas. The US Coast Guard is looking for people.
