When people talk about the Bermuda Triangle, they most often mean a dip into some other dimension, akin to “that world”. And from the other world, it is commonly believed, people do not return.

Probably, things are a little different with material objects. Who has not happened to? You thought that you had lost some little thing forever and suddenly found it in the most unexpected place … In this case, 90 years later, it was not a trifle that was discovered, but a whole ship that disappeared in the notorious triangle.

Not so long ago, the Cuban Coast Guard stumbled upon a ghost ship in the waters of the Caribbean - an old ship without a crew. It soon became clear that this is the famous American steamer SS "Cotopaxi", missing in the Bermuda Triangle

December 1, 1925.

A ghost ship suddenly appeared west of Havana in a no-navigation zone. After prolonged unsuccessful attempts to contact the crew of the vessel, three patrol boats from the Cuban Coast Guard were sent to intercept it.

Approaching the ship, the border guards were shocked by what they saw. It was rusted and obviously very old. On board - no sign of a crew. Desolation reigned everywhere, and it immediately became clear that the ship had been abandoned for decades.

During the inspection of the ship, on board it was found the diary of the captain who served at the time of the disappearance of the ship in the Clinchfield Navigation Company. The authenticity of the logbook was confirmed by Cuban expert Rodolfo Cruz Salvador. He said that the logbook contains a lot of valuable information about the daily life of the crew, but, unfortunately, does not give any clues about the loss of the ship and its crew.

According to the recovered documents, the SS Cotopaxi left the port of Charleston in South Carolina on November 29, 1925. At the time of departure, there were 32 sailors on board, led by Captain Mayer. The steamer was supposed to deliver 2,340 tons of coal to Havana. The last entry in the logbook was made on December 1, 1925. For some unknown reason, under unknown circumstances, two days after leaving the port, SS "Cotopaxi" gave a distress signal and stopped communicating, and on December 31, 1925, it was entered into the register of the missing. Despite the fact that in their last message the crew reported that the ship was sinking, it became part of the legend of the Bermuda Triangle.

Since there was no information about the whereabouts of the cargo ship in the past 90 years, the vice-president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, General Abelardo Colome, promised that the authorities would conduct an investigation to uncover the mystery surrounding the disappearance and appearance of the mysterious vessel.

Let's clarify that the Bermuda Triangle covers the area between Bermuda, Miami and Puerto Rico. Dozens of planes and ships have disappeared unknown in this area; the fate of the majority is still unknown. The culprits of these mysterious disappearances, ufologists call supernatural forces, up to the intrigues of alien civilizations. Do not discount the fact that under the waters of the ocean, the cities of Atlantis with pyramids and other structures are supposedly hiding here. Know-it-all scientists do not recognize anomalies and do not undertake to clarify anything. Looks like the gut is thin. And on such a shaky and damned place, doctoral dissertations cannot be stamped on much. It is easier to explain all the anomalies of the Bermuda Triangle by human errors in the management of aircraft and ships.

However, the mysterious appearance of the legendary SS "Cotopaxi" cannot but arouse interest in scientific circles. What else can force many experts who have never smelled the sea to reconsider their beliefs on this issue? After all, the sudden return of the ship after 90 years of absence cannot be explained by natural phenomena and human errors …
