Its age is over 4000 years. Archaeologists are planning to enter the pyramid within the next two weeks. Scientific evidence shows that this pyramid was built for the burial of the mother of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh

“The pyramid was found about two months ago in the sands south of Cairo. Most likely, the pyramid belonged to Queen Sesheshet, mother of Pharaoh Teti, who ruled from 2323 to 2291 BC. Pharaoh Teti belongs to the sixth dynasty of ancient Egyptian rulers. Researchers believe that the remains of Sesheshet are still preserved in the pyramid,”said the head of the Egyptian Scientific Council on Antiquity Zahi Hawass.

Egyptian scientists are sure that they found the pyramid of Queen Sesheshet for one simple reason - the burials of all previous representatives of the sixth dynasty had already been found earlier, and only one unknown person remained in this chain.

The pyramid has reached the present day in a dilapidated state. Now the height of the building is only 5 meters, but at the time of burial it exceeded 22 meters.

“This pyramid became the 118th located in Egypt. It was found relatively close to the world's oldest Pyramid of Saqqara. Originally the pyramid of Queen Sesheshet was white,”said Hawass.
