In Dnipro, as in any city of Ukraine, there are witnesses to the activity of otherworldly forces. Most often, so-called UFOs are noticed here - unidentified flying objects.
Since 1967, 54 cases of the appearance of "flying saucers" have been recorded in the Dnieper and the region. All of them are systematized and entered into the national UFO archive of Ukraine.
The most recent case of the discovery of an unknown object in the sky dates from May 23, 2017. Then one of the townspeople, "running along the embankment of the Dnieper", saw above his head first two luminous balls, and then a cigar-shaped object about 100 meters long. The observation time of the object was 15-20 seconds.
In addition to single witnesses, in the Dnieper and the region there are many cases of group UFO sightings. In particular, there were those in Soviet times, when this topic rather brought not glory, but troubles caused by the attention of the KGB and party committees. This somewhat increases the credibility of such messages.
So, on November 3, 1974 “a group of workers of the first shift of the Dnepropetrovsk machine-building plant reported that at 10 o'clock in the morning they saw four objects moving across the sky. The objects moved in one line and each of them was roughly equivalent in diameter to half the moon. Two of the objects were oval with a dark coating in the middle, and the other two were irregular rectangles with some noticeable lines. All four objects, according to workers, were clearly visible for two minutes and then faded and disappeared."
There are even video evidence of the presence of a UFO in the sky over the Dnieper. According to the archive, the last case of video recording was recorded on August 1, 2015. Then the driver of the bus, following the route "Dnepr - Kirillovka - Genichesk", managed to shoot an unidentified flying object on a video recorder in the Dafi area. Eye contact lasted for 11 minutes. Moreover, according to the driver, individual passengers, whom he picked up a little later in the city, also told about the UFO flying over them. Here is how an eyewitness describes what happened: “The flight altitude is about two kilometers. The observation range is three to four kilometers. Speed is faster than an airplane and absolutely silent. It had its own lighting (like a signal light, like an airplane). There was no contrail. He flew over the districts of Petrovsky Ave., st. Rabochaya, Amursky bridge. Disappeared from view due to trees. After 1 minute and 20 seconds (observed from Geroev Stalingrada Street), he flew towards the Pobeda residential area, deviating from the original trajectory by 90 degrees. Weather - cloudy, sometimes lightning, sometimes light rain. In the video from the recorder, the sky is not visible, but visibility was sufficient with the naked eye. Apart from UFOs, there are several infamous buildings in the city. Among these, the most famous two-storey residential building on the street. Orlovskaya, 6, in Chechelovka, the old hospital building on Korolenko, Trinity Church, a destroyed house near Most City.
In the Trinity Church, according to witnesses, "objects move spontaneously." In the house next to Most City, groans are often heard, "as if someone is being tortured." The ruins of the hospital on Korolenko were recognized as a lost place, and "various misfortunes pursue those who dared to approach this building." The house on Orlovskaya is famous for the fact that there is someone walking in empty rooms.
For the sake of fairness, it is worth admitting that local historians attribute all these stories to "local folklore", and some townspeople living in the neighborhood claim that nothing is happening there, complaining about the annoyance of the curious.
In addition, there is a unique type of poltergeist in the Dnieper - communal. In some cases, it is officially confirmed by utilities. For example, a few years ago even the national media reported in all seriousness that in the Amur district of the city "the inhabitants of four apartments are suffocating from an unknown smell." The presence of a strong stench was confirmed not only by journalists, but also by employees of the local housing office, who issued an official document about it. The police, for their part, said that "there are no drug addicts at the entrance," but agreed to consider the official appeal. How this story ended is not reported.
As well as it is not known about the reasons for another case, when water accumulated on the ceilings of several apartments, and then fell down on the heads of the residents.
