One of the most mysterious places on the planet is the Overtone Bridge, famous as the bridge that kills our four-legged friends. On this bridge, dogs suspiciously often die, and not by their own death, but by committing suicide. Scientists to this day wonder whether an animal can commit acts destructive to itself of its own free will. Many tried to unravel the mystery of the bridge, which is why various legends have developed about it. All the legends have in common is that more than a hundred dogs were thrown from the Overtone Bridge, despite the enormous height of over fifteen meters.
Background of the Overtone Bridge
The mysterious ferry is located near the village of Milton, which, in turn, is located in Scotland. An old mansion with the same name can be seen in the immediate vicinity of the bridge. The construction of the Overtown Bridge began in 1859 by a certain D. White. After the completion of renovation and construction work (in 1862), James White moved into a new home with his entire small family.
In 1884, the mansion went to White's son, who was named James after his father. It was he who began to expand the territory of his possessions, having coordinated this in advance with the local priest. The territory was significantly expanded soon, but the James estate had one problem - the existing and new lands were divided by a deep river. Then the owner of the mansion decided to build an arched bridge across the river, which was later named after the estate.
Initially, White's possessions were not famous for anything unusual, let alone mystical. James lived an ordinary life, started a family, multiplied his income, and so on. But in the middle of the twentieth century, the reputation of the Overtone Bridge deteriorated sharply - dogs began to die on it for inexplicable reasons.

The bridge makes animals die
The most puzzling of all of the above is that the dogs on Overtone Bridge have always committed suicide on a certain day, and in a very strange way. Previously obedient four-legged friends suddenly lost coordination, stopped responding to commands, accelerated and jumped from the bridge, crashing to death on stones. Some dogs survived after the first fall, but it was not possible to save them, because, having climbed back onto the bridge, they again jumped from it.
For their fatal jump, the four-legged constantly choose the same place, located between the last pair of flights on the right side of the structure. Some dog handlers claim that a dog's mind is directly dependent on its breed. All breeds can be categorized as stupid and intelligent. But not only dogs of "stupid" breeds jump from the mysterious bridge.
The studies of the bridge were carried out by all kinds of specialists: dog handlers, veterinarians, ufologists, and even representatives of the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruel Behavior with Animals. Neither one could find a single answer to the question: what makes animals jump from the bridge.
There are several versions that can explain what is happening
The most realistic and easy-to-understand version was put forward by zoologists. They assume that dogs throw themselves off the bridge because of the hunting instinct that is inherent in any breed. There are supposedly burrows of small rodents under the bridge. At a certain time of the year, the vital activity of these rodents is activated, after which they begin to be noticed by dogs passing along the bridge.
This version is extremely simple. It was she who was officially recognized, but she cannot explain one thing: why did the surviving animals climb back and jump again with their last bit of strength? If their behavior provokes the hunting instinct, then, having descended from the bridge, they had to start looking for holes for rodents, and not climb back in order to repeat the fatal jump.
Locals consider the bridge to be cursed. They claim that the ghosts of the child and his father make the dogs jump off the bridge. There is a legend that in ancient times, some would-be father decided to get rid of his newborn baby by tying a stone to it and throwing it off the bridge. Realizing what he had done, the father rushed after the child. Both died, of course. Since then, the ghost of the child "plays" on the day of death with the dogs, forcing them to make death leaps.
Overtone Bridge is the border of the worlds
Another theory, no less interesting than the previous ones, says that the border of two worlds passes through the bridge. On a certain day, it becomes noticeable to pets. Dogs, noticing this border, try to follow it, breaking down the bridge due to the fact that they do not notice its edge.
Also, some lovers of the anomalous state that the river is supposedly to blame for the death of the dogs. It serves as a key for a portal between worlds, which requires activation. It is the blood of domestic animals that is the activator for the river, which, being saturated with blood, opens the portal.
