Are the bright glowing balls surrounded by a disc-shaped translucent glow one type of UFO or something else? The latest case of a "strange object" that appeared over Leitrim, a county in northern Ireland that has recently been considered a UFO hotspot, was reported by The Irish Sun.

The newspaper's website says that a photograph taken by an unnamed eyewitness who saw "a small glow above my garden" was transferred to the FILER research institute in the United States, based on the National UFO Center.

Irish astronomer Eamonn Ansbrough of the Kingsland Observatory in Boyle, Ireland, believes the unidentified object on Leitrim may be a plasma ball that has been spotted on numerous occasions in Hessdalen, a mysterious mountain valley in Norway.

“This is supposed to be a new form of light. We do not know what it is, so we want to evaluate this phenomenon from the point of view of physics,”said Eamonn Ansbrough, who studied more than 130 observations over Ireland, which, in his opinion, can be explained by orbital trails around the Earth.

However, skeptics are convinced that the object in question is in fact the usual flare that occurs in the lens when the camera is pointed towards the sun or an artificial light source.

The US-based World Wide UFO Network (MUFON) has the world's largest UFO database. Every day, MUFON receives over 20 reports from people around the world. Among them there are photographs or videos of glowing balls and glowing glows of various colors and shades, which are simple glare of the sun. And only a few of them turn out to be genuine UFOs.

In most of these cases, eyewitnesses submitting the report report that they did not see the “object” with their own eyes, but noticed it later, in photographs. However, in many situations, glare may even appear in multiple images in an entire series of photographs.

Perhaps this is why the Leitrim photographer said, “The purple haze around the globe was invisible to the eye. I must admit that I am confused!"

In another case, a photographer from Los Gatos, California, said: "When we started looking at our photographs, to our surprise, we captured a strange ball with a multicolored halo around it in several of the shots."

Scott Brando, an expert on UFO hoaxes, after viewing photos from Leitrim, said: “Well, this photo only has lens flare. I think MUFON needs to make a FAQ section to help people identify the flying object correctly before submitting their report to MUFON."
