Modern man Homo sapiens ("reasonable man") replaced the more ancient species - the Neanderthal man, which was "less human", closer to apes. About 40 thousand years ago, intimate relations and incest arose between these species, and even a new type of people appeared who lived on the territory of Russia.

Tens of thousands of years ago, our wild ancestors, as well as even more ancient people, Neanderthals, roamed the earth. They were certainly not the only ancient predecessors of modern humans. Several different types can claim this at once.

In 2008, in the Altai Territory of Russia, a new species of ancient man was discovered, named Denisovsky, when scientists found bone fragments.

New research by archaeological scientists shows that Denisovsky man, Neanderthals and Homo sapiens, lived separately, but sometimes their living spaces overlapped. They also had interspecies sex. This is indicated by the results of studies of DNA remains, published in the journal Science.

“People from different parts of the planet have different levels of Neanderthal descent. This probably means that people have encountered Neanderthals more than once during their spread throughout Europe,”said the study co-author.

There are no details regarding prehistoric sex between different types of ancient people, but one can only guess that such cases occurred more than once. “There were apparently several separate intimate events, not just one happy sex party at one point in time,” biologist Alan Cooper told Science magazine.

These interspecies sex parties ended about 40 thousand years ago, when the Neanderthals became extinct and Homo sapiens began to spread throughout Europe and Asia. But 1-4% of the genes of the ancient Neanderthals still remain with us.
