A poltergeist episode occurred on Saturday, May 24, in the Primus coffee shop in Irkutsk (42 Stepan Razin Street), when one of the motion sensors was triggered, and the owner of this establishment, Egor, was immediately informed about this via SMS. At about 11:00, he was there and discovered that a painting had fallen in the area of the sofa, which caused the sensor to be triggered.

As it turned out, the three ropes on which the picture hung were as if frayed or torn off. It is worth noting that the weight of the picture is quite impressive, about 8 kg. Therefore, three ropes were involved at once. According to Yegor, she hung in this institution for more than 6 months and never fell. Moreover, this was the first incident in the entire period of work when the security system was triggered.

But it was not even the very fact of the fall that was inexplicable, but how and where it fell. First of all, the picture was in a glass frame, the glass of which, given its high weight, should have at least cracked when dropped from a height of 1.5 meters. In addition, the painting was found neatly laid on its side on a chair that was outside the area where the painting was likely to fall.

Initial examination of the three ropes showed that they were cut off approximately in the middle. Most likely, in the place where they hung from the nail. According to the cure of the owner of the coffee shop, the ropes were new, without fraying.

During the conversation, we managed to find out that in the building where the coffee shop is located, previously reported paranormal activity. In particular, we managed to talk with an employee of a nearby bar (and part-time a rehearsal base for local rock musicians), who said that several times he saw the ghostly silhouette of a "woman in white" here. In addition, the management of the neighboring bar complains about periodic unreasonable triggering of the security system.

It is interesting to note that the building where both institutions are located is located in the courtyard of the House of Writers, which our group studied several years ago for anomalous activity. In that case, the workers of the House of Writers reported periodic encounters with ghosts, and most often with a certain "woman in white".

On the same day, after about an hour and a half, instrument measurements of the characteristics of the electromagnetic field were carried out in the Primus coffee shop. Measurements showed an increased background of electromagnetic radiation in the area of the sofa, which is very close to the place of the fall. During the measurements, the WI-FI was de-energized, and partly the security system.

The background values of the microwave field (50 MHz-3GHz) in the coffee shop were 6.5-7 mV / m. In the area of the sofa, the values were significantly higher than the background - 600–1000 mV / m. A similar pattern was noted in the place where the picture was hung - 300-400 mV / m. Directly at the impact site, the high-frequency radiation was within the background. Measurements in the range of extremely low frequencies (30 Hz - 2000 kHz) also showed in the area of the sofa an increased magnetic induction of the field of about 15 mG (with a background of 0.5 mG). Measurements of the field frequencies in the place of the increased field indicated the presence of radiation in the ranges of 180-250 MHz, as well as 10-30 Hz. It is important to note that no natural sources of radiation were found in this area, which would explain the increased values - there were no wiring or metal structures.

The following version of the fall process can be assumed as a working hypothesis. The ropes were torn gradually, not all at once. At the moments of breaks, the picture began to rock, it began to make oscillatory movements parallel to the wall. Oscillatory movements led to the fact that the left side gradually began to descend. The moment the upper left corner was at its highest point, the final break occurred. The painting fell at the bottom left corner, then straightened out, resting on the chair with its entire left side.

But even if we accept this option, it remains unclear whether this gradual breaking of the rope is caused by some anomalous element or it is a simple coincidence of circumstances. We believe that only further observation and detailed investigation of all the stories associated with this building will clarify this.
