Each country has its own urban legends about houses that local residents try to bypass. This story is about abandoned homes in New Jersey. Many years ago, or rather in the 1980s, a terrible incident took place there, or rather a bloody murder, in honor of which the house was nicknamed "Demon's Alley".
From a few stories, you can find out that it all started with the arrival of a new tenant and all sorts of events.
Several families lived in the area, when a suspicious tenant moved into the largest house in the district, after moving in strange things began to happen to him.
The man tried to figure out who was involved in this, to which local residents suggested that this was the work of boys from the neighboring district.
After a while, strange things began to happen to the rest of the inhabitants of the area. Pets began to disappear. Some tenants found cut off telephone lines. Someone at the door of the house found dolls with a severed head.
The new neighbor could no longer tolerate this and urged his neighbors to hold a meeting with him to find out whose handiwork it was. All agreed and at the appointed hour they gathered in the house of the new tenant, not even suspecting that he was the leader of the Satan worshiping sect. It was he who started all these intrigues in order to gain the confidence of the residents.
An urban legend tells that a man was able to lure all the gathered men, children and women into the basement. After everyone was below, the man gave a signal and members of the sect appeared from hiding. Not sparing anyone, the sectarians staged a bloody massacre. No one had a chance to escape. All residents suffered a terrible death. The basement, stained with blood, with dozens of mutilated local bodies, was covered with a floor. The sectarians disappeared, leaving the bodies lying in pools of blood.
Today the houses of the brutally murdered residents are still standing, the windows and doors are boarded up. According to some reports, all things and furniture remained in the houses as they were left by the household on the day of the murder.

Members of this sect have not yet been caught. "Demon's Alley" is bypassed, and the locals try not to remember, let alone talk about the bloody massacre. Trying to convince himself and others that this has never happened and this is just an urban legend.
Now this area is guarded by private security, attempts to enter the houses are stopped by the police.
Houses have long fallen into disrepair, dilapidated and themselves pose a threat. It is not known for certain what the incident is, a real incident hidden by the local authorities, or a simple urban legend, of which there are a bunch of cities walking around. The strange thing is that, despite the dilapidation, the houses have not yet been demolished, and the police very seriously protect the area.
