On the northern coast of Taiwan, near the capital Taipei, there is the ghost town of San Zhi. Ala the local wealthy have built luxury seaside resorts before. And in the early 1980s, a group of companies under the patronage of the state began building an ultra-modern city. Futuristic houses with round rooms and curved staircases were erected here, beauty and luxury reigned.
But soon rumors began to spread among the builders that a curse lay on San-Zhi. Incomprehensible accidents began to occur: dozens of workers died under mysterious circumstances: they broke their necks, fell from a height even with safety cables, died under collapsed cranes, and sometimes for no apparent reason.
Superstitious Thais were convinced that this town was inhabited by evil spirits. They also remembered the Japanese death camp, which had once been located in these places. Bad rumors began to circulate about San Zhi very quickly.
Yet by the end of the 1980s, construction was completed. The developers even held a grand opening and expected that the San Zhi apartments would soon receive their tenants, but there were no people willing to buy real estate. Potential buyers, having learned about the ominous features of this place, completely refused to invest in real estate. Large-scale promotions did not help either, even tourists were extremely reluctant to come.
The companies eventually went bankrupt, and the luxury resort gradually became a ghost town. Bunches of round houses, similar to flying saucers, stood in disrepair, on the beaches you will not find a soul, and the paths were overgrown with weeds.

Several times the government came up with an initiative to demolish all buildings, but each time such a proposal ran into a civil protest. Local residents are sure that this place is cursed, and the city has become a haven for lost souls. To destroy their homes is to bring serious troubles on yourself and your entire family.
After all, having lost their homes, the ghosts will go for a walk in the nearest villages. So the city of San Zhi stands on the shore, which was not destined to become a resort pearl of Taiwan.
The houses were gradually dilapidated, taking on an increasingly picturesque post-apocalyptic look, which is so popular with many tourists.
In 2010, according to some reports, UFO houses were almost completely destroyed, and a new resort is now planned to be built in their place. However, tourists from all over the world still come here to experience the mystical atmosphere of the "dead" city."
