Eating is not healthy or unhealthy, because there cannot be a universal nutrition system that is indicative of everyone. Such a statement, completely breaking all known today ideas about the correct use of food, was made by the world's leading expert in gastroenterology and immunology, Eran Elinav.

Eran Elinav of the Weizmann Research Institute presented new nutritional theory at the annual conference of the American Association for Scientific Progress in Boston. The main idea of the scientist is this: "good" or "bad" food does not exist in principle, since food should be individual, depending on the characteristics of a particular organism.

Elinav and a group of researchers organized a study with the participation of 40 people, divided into two groups. For several weeks, one of them ate homemade bread, and the other ate store-bought bread. When summing up the results, it turned out that all project participants reacted exclusively in their own way to the proposed diet: someone recovered from healthy homemade bread, and someone lost weight from factory bread.

“The reaction of people to bread is highly individual - as is the case with other foods. We see this personalized reaction to absolutely any type of food. The uniqueness of an individual reaction to food mainly depends on the intestinal microflora,”concluded Elinav.

The scientist argues that each person's diet should be based on the composition of bacteria that inhabit his digestive tract. Only in this case, according to the expert, the positive impact of food on health can be effective.

Such a diet "for themselves" really helps to normalize blood sugar levels and lose excess weight, he is convinced. People who want to lose weight need, first of all, to change the composition of bacteria inhabiting the intestines, the gastroenterologist stated.
