Death is the beginning of a new life
There is no death, it is only a transition to another world. Over the past decades, our understanding of death has changed in many ways. What once seemed implausible and incredible, in our time, write not only spiritual and secular writers, but also scientists, including doctors. The results of many studies have been published.
• “I knew that I was dying and could not do anything, since no one heard me … I was out of my body, no doubt, because I saw my body on the operating table. My soul has left him! I felt pretty bad until this bright light appeared. At first, it was dim, but then turned into a dazzling glow. Warmth emanated from him … The light covered everything, but at the same time did not prevent me from seeing the operating room, doctors, nurses … At first I did not understand what was happening, but after He asked me if I was ready to die? He said it like a man, but no one was there. The voice came from the Light. Now I know: the Light realized that I was not ready to die. He kind of tested me. After the Light spoke, I felt very good; I felt that I was safe and loved. Love emanating from the Light cannot be expressed and described”(R. Moody).
Many of those who have experienced clinical death talk about light. They understood that it was not the light that spoke, but Someone in the light. As a rule, they did not hear the words, but they understood them. There was no specific language - Russian or another. They perceived and conveyed thoughts, and everything was so clear that it was unthinkable to deceive or conceal something. The light brought love, understanding and peace. It was difficult to find words for those who tried to describe the light, the Light was not the same as we know. “It was not light, but the absolute absence of darkness. The light was not visible, but it was everywhere, you were in the light”(Sabom).
There is also another phenomenon that is closely related to dying, sometimes occurring just before death, sometimes - and in this case it is brighter - soon after death. This is a revision of pictures of the past, often associated with a reassessment of what happened during a lifetime.
Professor Voino-Yasenetsky in the book "Spirit, Soul and Body" described two cases known to him.
• Admiral Beaufre said that when he was drowning, he saw “childhood, leprosy, time that was wasted, the previous voyage with a shipwreck; all this in a panorama, while every step of mine appeared before me, accompanied by a consciousness of its correctness or incorrectness, with a full understanding of its cause and effect. Many small adventures of my life, in reality already forgotten, appeared before my spiritual gaze in complete clarity. It took two minutes from falling into the water to retrieving. This means there was a supernatural speed of the consciousness.

In another case, it is told of a lady who fell into the water and nearly drowned. Two minutes passed from the time of the cessation of all her body movements and until she was removed from the water, during which, according to her, she once again experienced her whole past life … which unfolded before her spiritual gaze in all its details.
Ritchie, Moody, Subom and many others write about this view. During a state close to death, before the gaze of a person, as on a screen, all the main events of his past life pass.
Here are excerpts from a long story by Dr. Moody's patient brought back to life on earth:
• “When the Light appeared, He asked me:“What have you done in your life? What can you show Me? " or something like that. And then pictures of the past began to appear. They were very vibrant, three-dimensional and in color. And they moved. My whole life flew in front of me … Here I am a little girl … but I am getting married … everything flashed and disappeared … the day when I believed in Jesus Christ stood before my eyes for the longest time … it was many years ago."
She continued: “In each episode, and the Light chose them, He showed me the most basic. He did not blame me, but gently instructed that it is necessary to learn love and just learn, acquire knowledge that this is a continuous process, and I will continue it even after He comes for me a second time. The light said that this time I will come back (Moody).
The returnees said that such viewing is similar to memories, but there is a difference: first, it goes incredibly fast, and secondly, not sequentially, but all at once, simultaneously. All life is within a few seconds. These are very vivid pictures; they are accompanied by emotions, and a vivid memory of them remains.
Many people talk about meeting with deceased relatives or acquaintances - sometimes in earthly conditions, sometimes in the setting of another "heavenly" world. They always saw the dead and never those who were alive.
• A clinically dead woman heard a doctor tell her relatives that she was dying. Coming out of the body and rising up, she saw deceased relatives and friends under the ceiling. She recognized them and they greeted her with joy.
• Another woman saw her relatives and they greeted her and shook her hands. They were in white clothes, rejoiced and were happy … "and suddenly they turned their backs to me and began to leave, and my grandmother turned and said:" We will see you later, not this time. " Grandma, on the day of her death, was 96 years old, and now she looked … well, 40–45 years old, healthy and happy."
• During the battle, the company lost 42 soldiers killed. One of the soldiers, seriously wounded, saw his mutilated body and talked with his killed comrades. He did not see them, but they were there, next to him. They spoke without a sound, but understood each other. Sadness, sympathy was absent at all. They did not want to return to the body, they were happy.

It happens that the recently deceased is given a choice - to stay in the other world or return to the physical world. The Voice of the Light may ask: "Are you ready to die?" Sometimes the deceased, against their wishes, are ordered to return. Their souls were already filled with a feeling of joy, love and peace, she feels good there, but her time has not yet come; she hears some words or an order and returns to earthly life. The possibility of choice and prescription can take symbolic form: a stream, fog, the other side, and the like. This kind of evidence is abundant.
• The woman who left the body saw the hands of her late husband outstretched to her, but he could not reach her, and she again found herself in her body.
• A seriously wounded warrior on the battlefield saw his mutilated body and heard the Voice. He decided that Jesus Christ was talking to him. He was given a choice: to return to the earthly world as a cripple or to remain in the afterlife. The soldier agreed to return to earth.
• A patient of Dr. Moody said: “I had a heart attack and I found myself in a black void. I realized that I had left my body, I knew that I was dying … I asked God to help me, and soon I slipped out of the darkness and saw a gray fog ahead, and people behind it. Their figures were like earthly ones. Besides them, I could distinguish something like houses. Everything was flooded with golden light, very gentle, not as harsh as on earth … I felt incredible joy and wanted to go through the fog, but then suddenly my uncle Karl appeared, who died many years ago. He blocked my way saying: “Go back. Your affairs on earth are not over yet. Come back. " Against her will, she returned to the body. She had a little son who needed her."
There are many descriptions of nature, similar to the earthly, but somehow different from it: hilly meadows, the brightest green, which is not on earth, fields flooded with a wonderful golden light and separated by a hedge, which cannot be crossed. There are descriptions of flowers, trees, birds, animals, singing, music.
• The story of a woman with cancer who passed out of her body during surgery. She saw herself and the two doctors and gazed in horror at her body. The entire stomach and small intestines were in cancerous nodes. She stood and could not understand: “Why are there two of us? I stand and I lie. " Suddenly she was in the air. She realized that she was flying, that someone was holding her, and they were going up. It became so light that it was impossible to look … Then she saw thick trees with colorful leaves, small houses. She was also shown hell - "snakes, bastards, unbearable stench, demons", and then heaven - it was good there, but she heard a voice: "Let her down to earth" and returned to her body. She didn't want to go back.
• Betty Maltz describes her experiences in I Seen Eternity, published in 1977. She was in a state of clinical death for 28 minutes. It happened in July 1959 during the second operation for appendicular peritonitis. She was 27 years old.
She wrote that the transition was clear and calm. Immediately after her death, she found herself on a wonderful green hill. She was surprised that, having three surgical wounds, she could stand and walk freely, without any pain. The blue sky shines above her. There is no sun, but light is everywhere. Under her bare feet was grass of a color she had never seen on earth; every blade of grass is alive. The hill is steep, but the legs move easily, effortlessly, Variegated flowers, bushes, trees. To the left of her is a male figure in a tunic. Betty thought, "Is this an angel?" They walked without speaking, but she realized that he was not a stranger and that he knew her.
After that, her whole life flashed before her eyes. She saw her selfishness, and she felt ashamed, but she felt care and love around her. Betty Maltz found beautiful words to describe what she experienced: “I felt like I got everything I once wanted, was everything I once wanted to be, went to where I once dreamed of being” …
• No less interesting is the book by Dr. George Ritchie "Return from Tomorrow", published in 1976, in which he described what happened to him in 1943.
The foreword to the book was written by Raymond Moody. "His book," wrote Dr. Moody, "is one of the most fantastic and documented accounts of the experience of death known to me."
In the introduction to her book, Ritchie wrote: "Jesus is not only power, it is incredible, unconditional love." And further: “I have no idea what the next life will be like. I looked, so to speak, from the hallway, but I saw quite enough to realize two truths: our consciousness does not cease to exist with physical death; time on earth and our relationships with other people are much more important than we can imagine.
At the age of twenty, preparing to go to university, Ritchie fell ill. After a long and serious illness, he heard the doctors pronounced him dead. His soul left the body, wandered for a while, and eventually ended up in a small room, where a body covered with a sheet lay on a hospital bed. He did not immediately realize that this was his body and that, therefore, he died. He imagined death as nothingness, but he was alive, he saw and thought.
The light in the room began to intensify and became so bright that his physical vision could not bear it, Ritchie feels the "Presence" and soon sees Jesus Christ.
Full and boundless love emanates from Christ, and Ritchie feels peace, joy and such satisfaction that he is ready to remain in this state forever.
Years of his life pass before him, every one; he saw familiar people. Time flew by very quickly - all life within a few minutes. Ritchie took on the question, "How did you use your time on earth?" His whole life was present - Christ was not asking about facts, but about their meaning - what was important Ritchie did in his life. It was pointed out to him that it is not personal achievements that are important, but love for Christ and people.
After - a flight accompanied by Christ and some visions of the afterlife on earth and in the afterlife. Streets, houses, factories, people and disembodied beings.
He saw killers. They suffered. They are chained to the victims of their sin. They caused suffering to others, and now they cry and ask forgiveness from those before whom they are guilty, but no one hears them. He saw other pictures of the hell of the Subtle World - an inseparable attachment to earthly desires, which are insatiable there. "Where your heart lies, there you are."
Then he saw "Heavenly World", where science, art, music flourish. Library of Comprehensive Knowledge. Beings that look the same as people work without thinking about themselves. They grew spiritually in mortality and continue to grow.
He returned to his body, not wanting it. Ritchie's story was met with disbelief, but the experience dramatically changed his life and himself.
Hell is also featured in messages from Ritchie, Betty Maltz and others. The out-of-body experiences of the suicides brought back to life were also rather grim. A man who committed suicide after the death of his beloved wife finds himself in such terrible conditions that he cannot find words to describe them.
The return to the body is usually instantaneous, often coinciding in time with electrical shock or other resuscitation measures …
Often after the deceased realizes his death, he has a feeling of bitterness and a keen desire to return to the body. But as perception deepens, bitterness disappears and, on the contrary, a desire to stay appears. Some even resist returning to the body, especially those who have met the Light.
"I would like to always remain in the presence of the Light."
A sense of duty to those who remained, and sometimes the desire to complete some business that has been started, makes you return back to your body. Some women admitted that they would like to stay "there" but returned because of their young children.
“I didn’t want to return, but then I remembered my kids and my husband.”
“I found myself out of my body and realized that I had to make a decision … It was wonderful on the other side, and I wanted to stay. But I also knew that I could do something very good on earth … And then I thought: “I must return and live,” and after that I returned to my body”(Moody).
Some returned to the body as if by a jolt. It is uncomfortable and cold at first. Sometimes there is a short loss of consciousness before returning. Resuscitators and other eyewitnesses note that at the moment of returning to life, a person often sneezes. The popular belief says the same.
The stories of people who have gone through clinical death testify to something completely new - something new for science, but not for Christianity. Many of the scientists, including doctors, thoughtlessly walked by, but there were people who realized that something new was being revealed in the understanding of human existence, and tried not only to give descriptions, but also to find confirmation that these strange phenomena were not fantasy, but reality.
