The only mammoth hat in the world is on sale in Russia. It costs about $ 10,000 and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. But very prickly. The Siberian Times wrote about this unique product.

The director of the mammoth museum, Semyon Grigoriev, by the way, recently tried on this hat and shared his feelings: "Since the hair is thick and rough, the hat pricks the hair terribly, but a prehistoric head massage turns out."

“This is not a museum piece. We do not collect items of folk art. One person wants to sell, consulted. The hat is really made of real mammoth wool."

As it turned out, the owner of the hat is a 44-year-old builder from Yakutsk, Vladimir Ammosov. He commented on the Siberian Times.

“My uncle collected a whole package of mammoth wool in the village of Kazachye, and then sold it to me. I thought for a long time what to do with it and decided to make a hat. In Yakutia, we make traditional hats from horse wool, why not try a mammoth?"

Ammosov handed the wool over to a professional craftsman, who made the hat.

The authenticity of the wool was confirmed by Semyon Grigoriev, director of the Yakut mammoth museum. He tried the hat himself and shared his impressions:

“This is the most prickly hat I've ever put on. It does not smell of anything, compared to, say, bison, the wool of a mammoth is very tough."

The hat is made in the traditional Yakut style: they are worn by men during national holidays.
