Florida police officers killed a man suspected of having a brutal case of cannibalism. Like the Hollywood thriller character Hannibal Lecter, the criminal ate the flesh on the face of a living person.
The spooky incident took place on Saturday in broad daylight in a Miami resort. A roadman and a bystander witnessed the cannibal's attack. Before their eyes, the suspect literally ate the victim's face.
The worker tried to stop the criminal with words using his loudspeaker. And the woman saw a policeman nearby and gave him signs with her hand, asking for help.
The guardian of the law who ran to the scene demanded that the attacker stop, but he did not react. Even after the first shot to kill, the maniac continued his "meal". As a result, the police officer fired at least five shots at the suspect, who was behaving like a zombie. The cannibal died from his injuries.
The victim of the attack was hospitalized in critical condition. The name of the victim is not known, but, according to one version, he is a homeless person.
Presumably, the cause of the attack was the so-called cocaine psychosis. It is characterized by a sensation of heat, which forces the addict to undress.

Police spokesman Javier Ortiz considers his colleague, who shot a naked and unarmed man, to be the hero who saved another person's life. US Police Sergeant Altar Williams is of the same opinion. According to him, an unarmed person can also be very dangerous.
