In June, five amazing mummies were found in Peru that did not look like human remains. The find, discovered in the Nazca desert, baffled scientists: the mummies have an oblong skull shape, practically no nose and ears, there are three fingers on the hands and feet, and the facial features are asymmetrical. Their height reaches 168 centimeters, from above the bodies are covered with an unknown composition, but this is quite similar to the traditions of the South American peoples. They covered their bodies with herbal infusions. The bodies of the mummies are perfectly preserved due to the dry climate.

It has now become known that the mummies are 1,700 years old. Some scientists, not even working with the find, believe that it is a skillfully made forgery. However, Dr. Edson Vivanco, who is part of the research team of Peruvian mummies, recently declared that they are real. This was confirmed by DNA tests: the mummies of us are one hundred percent human. An x-ray showed that the mummies had three fingers, but five phalanges.

“It's actually very difficult to reproduce such characteristics of the skull. The parietal and occipital regions, the frontal suture and other anatomical characteristics indicate that the skull is real,”Vivanco shared his thoughts.

So far, researchers have not found any evidence of outside interference. Now two assumptions have been put forward for their origin: either it is some biological organism previously unknown to science, or someone did make these mummies. Accordingly, scientists will have to find out whose handiwork it is.
