The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) has photographed an eerie-looking animal in the waters of the Southern Ocean in Antarctica.

The Australians gave this creature the nickname "headless monster chicken".

The creature was filmed with a special underwater camera at a depth of about 3 kilometers near the Heard Islands.

According to one of the researchers, when they saw this creature on the screen, they were shocked by its appearance, which reminded them of the monsters from horror films.

Later, after sorting out and looking for information on the Internet, the team members came to the conclusion that the creature they photographed was a sea cucumber of the species "Enypniastes eximia" or a pink sea cucumber from echinoderm molluscs. But previously it was only noticed in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of the United States.

Pink sea cucumber does have a very unusual appearance, and its color ranges from pale pink to deep red. The integument of the creature is often practically transparent and all internal organs are visible.

The researchers admitted that they had never met such creatures in these places before and that this is one of the most amazing creatures that they have seen.
