We are talking about events and phenomena, sometimes strange or extraordinary, but sometimes quite ordinary, which are regarded by some peoples as messengers of death. You can call it superstition as much as you like, but the facts often suggest otherwise.
Angel of Death
A terrifying skeleton in a gloomy robe waving a scythe is known among European peoples as the Angel of Death. Mark Chorvinsky, a well-known researcher of strange and unusual phenomena in the United States, is sure that the Angel of Death is not a metaphor or an allegory, but a real creation.

In the legends of the Scandinavian peoples and Germany, this is the name of a frenzied procession of dead horsemen, a host of evil spirits with a pack of barking dogs, which rushes across the sky, uttering a wild roar, bending down and uprooting trees. This cavalcade is led by the Wild Hunter, often mistaken for the ancient Scandinavian god Odin, as well as a woman named Holda or Bertha. It is believed that the Wild Hunt can be seen at any time, but more often it appears in late autumn during hard times, at the lunar equinox, at dusk and during storms. The legends of various peoples tell about birds - messengers of death, which supposedly accompany the soul to the world of the dead. Similar cases were described by various researchers, and the bishop did not necessarily die, and the birds were different. Some of them circled in flocks over the house of the dying man, others one by one banged on the window with their beak, as if warning of their arrival.
One such case is described by the Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist C. G. Jung. On the eve of the death of one of his patients, a flock of sea gulls covered the roof of the house where this patient lived. Their appearance terribly frightened the inhabitants, because even earlier, after the same bird invasion, two of their relatives suddenly died …

So, for example, banshees as messengers of death are absent in the folklore and customs of the Russian people. That is why they do not appear with us. The point is that the mind has a materializing effect, especially the collective mind. At the same time, traditions and beliefs are not something fictitious or seeming, since they have an impact on our entire nature. For this reason, visions of ghosts, saints, or the Lord God Himself are possible only where such representations have been cultivated for centuries.
