62-year-old Russian woman Ezeta Gobeeva lives in North Ossetia and for the last 23 years she suffered from severe acute pain in the abdomen.
Visits to doctors did not give the pensioner relief; they blamed everything on liver problems and prescribed painkillers for her. Every day Gobeeva drank pills to save herself from pain.
It wasn't until 2019 that she finally had an X-ray of her abdomen and the picture clearly showed a large metal clamp used by surgeons during operations.
At first, the stunned radiologist thought that the woman had forgotten the scissors in her pocket, but quickly realized that it was indeed a foreign body in the pelvic area.
Gobeeva was never operated on, but in 1996 she underwent a cesarean section, which means that all these 23 years, it was the clamp that was forgotten then that caused acute pain.
The clamp is 16 cm long and it hurt the woman with every movement.

At the moment, the clamp is still inside Gobeeva, but she is being prepared for surgery to remove it.
The authorities of North Ossetia agreed to pay all medical expenses for the emergency operation, as well as to pay the woman moral compensation. Also on this case, an official investigation is underway.
