Husband and wife Dave and Trisha (surnames not listed) from the town of Browns Mills (New Jersey, USA) on April 7, 2018 went for a walk in the Brendan Byrne Nature Reserve, which is located in the Pine Barrens pine forest. The couple took their dog with them.

They went through nothing, but suddenly they smelled a strange unpleasant smell. They thought that the smell was similar to the stench of mold, and they marveled at this, since they had not noticed this in the forest before. Because of this bad smell, Dave wanted to immediately return to the car and Trisha followed him.

The couple drove home, but they drove a little, slowing down on a bridge over the lake. Trisha wanted to take some beautiful photos of the pond. As soon as Trisha, who was driving, left the bridge, she suddenly noticed something tall and dark brown in the rearview mirror.

The subject stood slightly behind the vehicle and was approximately 6 feet (182 cm) tall. And then he very quickly disappeared somewhere. Trisha couldn't believe her eyes.

“I thought it was my sight that deceives me. But it couldn't seem to me, it really was."

The woman told her husband about the “anomaly” she had seen, and then turned and drove back to the bridge, wishing to see the object again. On the way, the woman and the man heard strange sounds, as if someone was loudly repeating "Vuh vuh vuh vuh" all the time. They attributed it to the noise in the engine, but then, on reflection, they decided that the creature was trying to scare them away with such a noise.

As soon as they arrived at the bridge, they heard something large breaking branches in the coastal bushes, and then there was a loud splash, as if something heavy had fallen into the water. Further, nothing strange happened at the lake.

Upon returning home, Dave and Trisha discussed the "anomaly". The woman was sure that it was not a deer, and even more so that it was not a bear.

Shortly thereafter, the couple contacted cryptozoologists from the Bigfoot Field Research Organization and told them their story, and also drove out to their place where it all happened. No traces were found there, but the representative of the organization considered the testimony of the spouses to be genuine.
