The portrait of the 16th President of America Abraham Lincoln on a 5-dollar bill is a tribute to the nation's respect for a man who has done a lot for the country.

Abraham Lincoln went down in US history as the Great Liberator of American Slaves, a National Hero and a prominent statesman.

There are many mystical stories associated with the name of Lincoln. The most famous of them is about the existence of a ghostly funeral train, on which the body of the president was carried across the country so that numerous saddened citizens of the country might say goodbye to him. They assure that this train still appears on the railway line and many have seen it. This happens in the dark, the train moves completely silently, although some eyewitnesses heard a locomotive whistle. At the beginning of the composition, a ghost orchestra is located on the platform. The musicians, dressed in blue uniforms, silently perform the funeral march. In the second carriage, Lincoln's coffin is visible and the guard of honor around it. Perhaps this information can be regarded as another urban legend. But if on the night of April 21 to May 3 you go to the railway passing through the state of Illinois,Abraham Lincoln's ghostly composition can be seen slowly moving.

A ghostly light emanates from the train. During the "passage" of the train, all clocks stop for 6 minutes, and real trains, going along the same railway lines, arrive at their final points with a delay of six minutes. The ghost train slowly moves along its route, gradually disappearing into thin air.

Among the many ghosts that inhabit the White House is the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. Perhaps this is due to the fact that mysticism accompanied Lincoln all his life. The future president of the United States had four sons, but only one survived to adulthood - Robert. After the death of one of his sons, Lincoln, at the request of his wife, agreed to a seance in order to evoke the spirit of his late son, Willie. The medium Negty Coulburn, who helps the spouses in this, said that the boy's spirit announced that his father would become the president of the country, and that he must make every effort to abolish slavery, otherwise it would not be possible to stop the war between the South and North. The spirit also promised to warn Lincoln of the date of his death. After this session, Abraham Lincoln actively entered the struggle for the presidency and won it brilliantly. Later, he made an entry in his diary about this time, believing that he fulfilled the will of his son. In this diary, Lincoln wrote down his visions, prophetic dreams, and everything unusual that he considered necessary to record. You can, of course, refer to this as an invention or eccentricity of a person. But Lincoln dreamed mystical dreams quite often, and some of them were then embodied in reality.

So, in the diary it is described that shortly before the election of a new president in 1860, Lincoln saw his image in the mirror, which doubled. His wife, Mary Todd, suggested that this vision indicated that her husband would be re-elected to the presidency. A few days before the attempt on his life, he had a dream, which he described in detail in his diary. He wrote that he heard the cries of people, got out of bed and walked through the enfilade of numerous rooms and, reaching the East wing of the building, saw a hearse surrounded by an honor guard. To his question: "Who died?" he was told - "President". Impressed by this dream, Lincoln told the staff in the morning that he saw an attempt on his own life in a dream. And on the day of his death, when parting with people, he said instead of the usual "Goodbye" - the word "Goodbye".

On April 14, 1865, Lincoln attended a play at Ford's Theater in Washington. A little-known actor, secret agent of the Confederation, John Booth, fatally wounded the President of the United States in a theater box. At first, Booth's plans were to kidnap President Lincoln, in order to exchange him for all the captives, supporters of the Confederation. The kidnapping was supposed to take place in March 1865 at a play in the hospital. But the president's visit to the hospital was canceled and the kidnapping plan was thwarted. The decision to assassinate the president was made after Lincoln, in his speech, pointed out the need to endow blacks with suffrage. The police tracked down the killer. On April 25, law enforcement officers surrounded the barn where Booth was hiding. While trying to escape from a burning building, he was shot …

The first to report the ghost of Lincoln in the White House was a certain Grace Coolidge (wife of the thirtieth president of the United States). She noticed a ghost in the Oval Office, the phantom stood calmly and looked out the window. Once the Queen of the Netherlands was visiting the White House at the invitation of Roosevelt. In the evening, someone knocked on the door of the room she occupied. When she opened the door, she saw Abraham Lincoln on the threshold of the room. He was dressed in the clothes of his time, and in his hand he held a top hat. After the frightened woman reported this incident to Roosevelt, he calmly said that many had seen the ghost of Lincoln there, and the room in which the lady lived was called "Lincoln's room."

Roosevelt's secretary saw Lincoln in this room putting on his shoes. After visiting the White House, Winston Churchill saw the ghost of Lincoln, leaving the bath in the evening, he refused to continue to remain in the residence of the American president. Churchill clearly saw that the robe-clad ghost of the 16th President of the United States added wood to the fireplace and then slowly melted into thin air.

Ronald Reagan's daughter saw Lincoln's ghost twice.

White House employees are not afraid to meet Lincoln's ghost - it is considered a good sign.

Lincoln's ghost was seen at his grave in Springfield. And this gave rise to a lot of rumors, including the fact that Lincoln's grave is empty …

Such attention and interest in President Abraham Lincoln is not accidental. After all, it was he who determined the historical development of the United States of America for many decades to come.
