A terrible and almost mystical tragedy broke out in St. Petersburg. After a night of searches, the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations found the grandmother and her one-month-old granddaughter who were missing while walking in the depths of the Yuntolovsky reserve. The baby was dead and the woman was in a deranged state, TASS reports.
The story began on the afternoon of June 15, when a 54-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, as usual, put her granddaughter, who turned a month old a few days ago, into a carriage, and went for a walk to the Yuntolovsky nature reserve.
After a while, the girl's mother called her grandmother and asked to come back, since it was time to feed the child. The woman promised to immediately turn towards the house.
An hour and a half later, the mother again tried to call my grandmother, but the phone no longer answered. The parents sounded the alarm and at about six in the evening they shouted out to the rescuers.
Both spouses work in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and colleagues immediately came to their aid. More than 400 volunteers and 27 pieces of equipment were involved in the search.
The main walkways were empty, and in the bushes, rescuers found an empty wheelchair with a bloody blanket inside.
Then the volunteers began to comb the thicket in the depths of the huge reserve, making their way through the windbreak, canals, rivers and bushes.
Closer to four in the morning, the volunteers managed to find my grandmother in a swampy area. She was lying face down on the ground. A baby was found under the woman. Unfortunately, the girl was already dead.

The grandmother was in a deranged state with slit wrists and severe hypothermia. When rescuers began to lift her from the ground, the woman said that everyone who is trying to save her is in great danger, since a demon is sitting in her. “My child and I are dangerous to the world,” she said.
Investigators opened a criminal case into the incident. They assume that the woman strangled the child herself, and then tried to open her veins.
Now psychiatrists are working with the woman. According to the parents of the deceased child, the grandmother had no previous behavior abnormalities.
