The incident that took place on August 31 at night in a private house at 42 Katernaya, in its inconceivability and cruelty, resembles the plot of the novel "Murder on Morgue Street". The signs agree: no one has seen anything, no one knows; and, judging by the torn cage, which is made of euro lining and galvanized mesh, the killer possesses simply monstrous strength
The first thought - isn't it a man? But no, it doesn't look like it. On the ground, in different places, four animal tracks are visible. They are palm-sized and resemble a flower drawn by a child. In addition, there are obvious claw marks on the broken cage. And to the side of the cage - crumpled nettles. It seems as if the attacker made a halt here: he lay down and had a snack. Moreover, there are two rookeries. Suggests that the beast was not alone.
A resident of the house, Elena Solomko, was simply horrified when on the morning of August 31 she went out to visit her bird. Seeing the yard, she immediately ran back into the house. Elena and her husband did not immediately realize what to do. First, they took the four-year-old child to the kindergarten and only then they called the police. The arrived employees confirmed that it was not a human being who was operating here, and said that the epidemiological service should understand everything. So now the carcasses of a hundred quails, twelve chickens and three turkeys are lying awaiting examination by veterinarians.
- At three o'clock in the morning my husband went out to check the bird in the yard, but everything was calm, - says Elena. - Only when we woke up in the morning, we saw that they had lost their economy. An unknown beast strangled all the birds, left no one alive. Neighbors came today, among them a forester, he immediately told us that it was all done by the lynx. Only a few birds were torn to pieces. The rest of the bird is simply strangled, as if the predator was doing it for fun. Not a single carcass is eaten, but all are bled.
What is most striking is the sight of the torn cage in which the quails were. The birds sat in it on the fourth tier (at the height of a man with an outstretched arm). Nevertheless, the beast somehow not only reached out, but also managed to punch a hole, get inside, kill all the birds and get out from the other side.
- At night, even the dogs did not react to the arrival of the beast, everything was absolutely quiet, no one barked, adds the mistress of the house. “And in the morning there were no stray dogs in the neighborhood at all. I think it was the lynx that scared them off. Another neighbor's cat usually hunts on our site. But today he too, just stepping on our land and looking around, immediately left.
It is worth noting that the Chelyabinsk family slept with the windows open on the night of the beast's invasion. Fortunately, the lynx didn't get into the house. Although she could go to smells: a cat and a dog spent the night at home. The owners are unlikely to spend this night calmly: they fear that the lynx may return.
Such an incident is the first case in Chelyabinsk in recent years. Similar traces of the crime were discovered several times in Kopeisk just a couple of months ago. There, an unknown animal, except for birds, strangled rabbits and hares. Local residents have already dubbed the mythical killer "Chupacabra". Perhaps this is the very animal that has now come to Chelyabinsk. True, where the lynx came from is still unknown. After the June events, the majority of Kopeik residents were inclined to believe that the lynx was forced to change its habitat by last year's forest fires.

- Of course, in order to better understand the situation, one must visit the site and examine all traces. But the first thing I can say, without seeing what happened, is that the option with the participation of a person can never be ruled out. Maybe one of the neighbors came, killed all the birds and broke the cage. And traces in the yard could easily have been left by pets: cats or dogs. If we consider the version with the killer animal, then, judging by the real signs, this is not very similar to a lynx. All felines, including lynxes, kill exactly as many victims as they need for food. They don't kill for fun. These animals from the weasel family can go into a rage and just strangle the whole bird. For example, ferrets, badgers, wolverines, etc. However, ferrets and badgers could hardly, as you say, break a massive cage. And wolverines are extremely rare in our area.
In the near future, a research group "Chelyabinsk-Kosmopoisk", which is studying anomalous phenomena, will conduct an inspection in a private house in the Traktorozavodsky district.
