Specialists from the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in the Czech Republic cured a 27-year-old patient with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, whose chances of survival were zero.

Not long before that, the guy, as inevitably happens in patients with this type of blood cancer, had a relapse. After that, the body stopped responding to any medications and chemotherapy.

The patient had several weeks to live. And then the doctors decided to try a completely new type of medicine for the Czech Republic. Unexpectedly, it helped to stabilize the patient's condition - and after a while the tests, unexpectedly for everyone, showed that there was no cancer!

Doctor of Medical Sciences Kirill Shalek from the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion of the Czech Republic told reporters that this drug belongs to a new family of monoclonal antibodies. One end of its molecules binds to leukemic cells, the other to healthy ones. In doing so, each molecule acts as a single powerful part of the immune system, whose natural function is to kill foreign and diseased cells.

The product is in a special large ampoule. The patient always carries it with him, it is connected to his vein. At regular intervals, the medicine is injected into the blood with a special pump, and it begins to act

“At the present time we can say that we seem to have found a revolutionary approach to the treatment of oncohematological diseases,” says Dr. Schalek.
