In disputes about whether the leaders of the Third Reich could organize bases in Antarctica, one often hears a negative answer, citing the complete absence of documents confirming such assumptions. The problem is that here, in Russia, the situation with documentary support is much worse than in the USA or in Europe. Foreign authors - and this is very noticeable - operate with a much larger volume of archival information than their Russian colleagues.

The closed nature of domestic archives is visible, in particular, in those cases when it seems that the attention of the interested public is provided with a sufficiently large array of information, which in fact turns out to be, to put it mildly, far from exhaustive. Moreover, this trend is visible even when we are not talking about top-secret developments.

In 2000, the Polish writer Igor Witkowski published the book "The Truth About Wonder Weapons" ("Prawda o Wunderwaffe", in 2007 a revised edition was published in Poland as a two-volume edition). In 2003 this work was published in Europe in English by the European History Press. In Russia, if we are not mistaken, for some reason not one of Vitkovsky's books has yet been published.

While collecting data for his book, Witkowski, like many of his colleagues, came across materials from American archives declassified in the early 2000s. These include data from the Project Lusty project. The content of these declassified documents, Witkowski writes, is “an absolute revelation that gives the impression that it is a story of alien origin […]. We are talking about facts that not only shed a completely new light on the end of World War II and the problem of scientific and technical achievements of the Third Reich, but also cause a real shock due to the fact that they were still hiding behind a veil of secrecy."

There is something to come to shock.

Only within the framework of "Project Lusty" during the three post-war months of 1945, 110,000 tons (!) Of scientific documents were exported to the USA. There and at the same time the documentation of the German Patent Office was taken out, amounting to about 225,000 volumes, among which there were many folders with top secret materials.

Carter Hydrick, in his work "Critical Mass", mentioned the well-known fact of secret negotiations on the terms of Germany's surrender, which SS General Wolff conducted with the head of the Office of Strategic Services (predecessor of the CIA) in Zurich - Allen Dulles in the spring of 1945 of the year. That's just the development and completion of these negotiations not quite the way, or rather, not at all the way it looked in the version of Yulian Semyonov and the director of the television series "Seventeen Moments of Spring" Tatiana Lioznova. Hydrik claimed that Hitler was aware of these negotiations, aware of the fact that Bormann was bargaining with the Americans about the lives of Nazi leaders in exchange for German technology.

Igor Witkowski (like Joseph Farrell, who appreciates his work) notes that Project Lusty was dedicated exclusively to German aerospace technology. These technologies, of course, were applied not only in the air. Among the objects of their application, in particular, there was a submarine of the XXI type, the presence of which in Germany was much talked about among researchers who profess alternative approaches.

Vitkowski notes that this submarine had a fundamentally different power plant, which used hydrogen peroxide. She developed a speed of 17.2 knots in a submerged position (according to other sources, up to 22 knots), which in the metric system of measures ranges from 32 to 40 km / h. According to information about her first tests, she could dive to a depth that was fantastic for that time - up to 330 meters. At this speed, it could travel about 340 miles (that is, more than 600 kilometers) without recharging the batteries.

It was a boat that was intended mainly for long-term movement under water, and not just for diving under water if necessary. She had a double coating of a special anti-radar material, due to which (as well as a large immersion depth) surface ships were not able to detect it at a distance of even 200 meters, as was shown by the tests of one of the samples of this submarine, carried out by the US Navy in 1946.

Witkowski summarized this submarine briefly: it represented a technical leap from the 1940s to the 1960s.

… Summer 1945. In Europe, the Allied forces are in full swing looking for and expropriating German technology and documentation. Brigadier General George C. McDonald, Director of Intelligence for the United States Air Forces (USSTAF) sent a list of six underground factories that the Americans had infiltrated to his European headquarters on August 29. On each of them, until the last day of the war, aircraft parts and other special equipment for the Luftwaffe were produced.

English journalist Nick Cook describes the report in The Hunt for the Zero Point (Chapter 6) as follows: “According to MacDonald, each of these factories was 5 to 26 kilometers long. The tunnels were 4 to 20 meters wide and 4 to 20 meters high; the sizes of the workshops were from 13,000 to 25,000 square meters.

Seven weeks later, in mid-October, a Provisional Report on German and Austrian Underground Factories and Laboratories to US Air Force Headquarters said that the latest inspection "revealed more German underground factories than previously thought."

Underground structures have been discovered not only in Germany and Austria, but also in France, Italy, Hungary and Czechoslovakia.

"Although the Germans did not engage in large-scale construction of underground factories until March 1944, by the end of the war they had managed to launch about 143 such factories," the report said. An additional 107 factories were discovered, built or laid down at the end of the war, but to these you can add another 600 mines and caves, many of which have been turned into conveyors and laboratories for the production of weapons.

The author of the report was obviously amazed at the scale of German underground construction. "One can only speculate what would have happened if the Germans had gone underground before the start of the war," he concluded."

In Chapter 7 of his book Hitler's Flying Saucers, Henry Stevens noted that the Antarctic base of the Third Reich (legendary among ufologists and supporters of the alternative history "Base-211") existed until the late 1950s. It was then, in 1956-1957, as part of the first International Geophysical Year (IGY), the United States, wanting to force the Germans to leave their bases in Queen Maud Land, attacked Baza-211, detonating three atomic charges in the air.

Stevens, as a source of information, refers to the book of the occultist and esotericist, a former colleague of Heinrich Himmler - Wilhelm Landig (Wilhelm Landig; 1909-1997) - "Goetzen Gegen Thule Ein Roman voller Wirklichkeiten", published in 1971 in Hanover. In this work, Landig reports that atomic explosions produced in the air were supposed to destroy everything that was on the underground Base-211 with the help of a shock wave.

“But,” Stevens quotes Landig, “this plan has failed. First, the force of the blast wave was clearly insufficient to produce the required destruction. But, most importantly, this whole venture turned out to be superfluous, since most of the German colonists by that time had already abandoned the Antarctic base, replacing it with South American bases in the Andes.

Landig claims that the reason for the change of place was, oddly enough, the extremely clean, almost sterile climate of Antarctica. It seems that the point was that the human immune system, in order to stay in working order, constantly needs the influence of various infections. When this effect is absent, the human immune system is dramatically weakened, and in a few years a common cold can become a serious problem for him."

On the testimony of Stevens and Landig, skeptics can argue: “Found the authorities! All this is not serious! But the fact is that in order to understand the wide range of issues and problems that are facing, in particular, the researchers of Antarctica, it is necessary to radically revise many concepts and established views, which in fact today play the role of not scientific facts, but the most real myths and delusions. …
