In Australia, for the third month now, there has been a surge of interest in the local yeti, which is here called the word "yovi".
After a resident of New South Wales met with a tall red-haired Yovi in late August 2018, the local press published several more stories about earlier meetings with Yovi.
Another case was recently reported by YouTube channel Yowee Down Under, which interviewed a woman named Claire, who previously lived with two young children in Nanango, Queensland.
The exact year when this happened, Claire does not say, but possibly several years ago.
But once, when Claire once again came to visit her mother and told her about the fears of the children, her mother said that when she lived in this house, she often heard strange sounds near the house. As if someone walks and this someone is very large.
According to Claire's mother, she herself saw and repeatedly, as something large and dark ran around her house. And it was "a very strange creature."
One day, after another visit to her mother in the nursing home, Claire drove to her home and immediately realized that something was wrong when the lights in the parking lot, where she always parked her car, were broken and everything around was in dense darkness.
When Claire got out of her car and walked towards the house, she suddenly heard an eerie and loud howl of some animal.
Claire talked to her neighbors about these sounds, but no one knew what kind of creature was making them. All sinned on a big dog sitting somewhere on a leash. And then an even more frightening event happened.
Late in the evening, Claire was in the kitchen pouring herself some tea when something growled dully almost under the kitchen window! From Claire's fear, the cup fell out of her hands and she backed away from the room. Then she turned off the light in the kitchen and hid around the corner of the corridor, where she would not be seen from the window.
According to Claire, the activity of a strange creature near her house continued for several months. And she already began to notice when this creature appears nearby. At these moments, her cat began to react as if a strange dog was nearby. The fur on her back and tail stood on end. And Claire's dog would start barking excitedly, staring at the door or window.
In the end, Claire began to think that the same Yovi, which she had previously only heard about when mentioning the Aboriginal mythology, came to her house.
One day a familiar girl came to the children’s house to play. While the kids were playing, Claire searched YouTube for a video with sounds that the Yeti was supposed to make. She found the recording and began to listen to it. The descriptions for the video indicated that it was a recording of a Yeti roaring from Ohio, USA.
At that moment, that girl looked into her room and said that it was yovi growling. When Claire asked her how she knew, the girl said that her family once went on a hike and there they heard similar sounds. And her dad said it was the sounds of yovee.
The likely Yovi stopped coming to Claire's house as suddenly as he had appeared. Why he came and why he left remained a mystery to people.
