The American space agency NASA has published the next images of the surface of Mars, transmitted by the Curiosity rover.
After examining the images, virtual archaeologists reported that they had found a shark on the surface of the Red Planet.
Scientists said that they specifically published a picture in which the fossil is highlighted in bright color in order to better recognize it on the surface of the Red Planet.
The image in question was captured by the Curiosity navigation camera on March 23 in the vicinity of Salt 1290, ftimes.ru reports.
The length of the fossilized fish in the photo is approximately 1.5 meters.
Experts suggest that this fish is possibly the ancestor of terrestrial fish.

According to the Daily Mail, the famous seeker of extraterrestrial life Scott Waring is sure that the picture does indeed show a fossilized fish, the existence of which proves that once there were seas on Mars, and these seas were alive.
"Look closely, you can see the caudal fin, the ridge and the anterior fin that starts from the loin and goes down to the fish belly," - said Waring
According to him, NASA will have to spend about $ 2 billion on equipment to "catch" this fish and deliver it to Earth.
An expedition to Mars is scheduled for 2020. NASA will send its rovers there to search for water or other substances.
Scientists from reputable space organizations do not share this enthusiasm. Most scientists believe that the picture is still an ordinary stone.
Many Internet users also greeted the statement of the find with laughter, noting that no fish could survive on the planet's surface like that.
