I want to talk about a technology that was quite widespread in the past all over the world, softening and melting a variety of stone types, as well as a wide variety of sizes.

It's worth starting with softening. Traces of this technology are found almost all over the world and in many ancient sites. Why this was done can be answered only in some cases, in others it is a mystery.

The simplest explanation, it seems to me, is that the stone and large blocks were softened in order to change the shape, give the desired slope and the like, in general, everything to improve the wall or some fragment of the building.

In this case, one can understand why the stones were softened, but as you might guess, this unknown technology is not always found in buildings.

Often these are some kind of strange traces in the most ordinary stones. Or these are the same strange and ridiculous traces in the megaliths, as in Sacsayhuaman, as if someone accidentally touched something to the softened stone.

In general, what kind of technology it was remains a mystery to this day. And you should not assume that this is a casting, since it is not so and it has already been proven many times. Natural stone was softened by the civilizations of the past, but how this was done is unknown to our civilization.

It is also worth mentioning the technology of melting a wide variety of rocks, some of which should generally melt only at high temperatures, but in the past it was possible to do this, moreover, in the open air.

In some places, the traces of melting look as if it was done on purpose and was originally conceived so, but in others, these are traces not from some technology useful for construction, but rather a weapon. But everything is in order.

First, what looks "useful". An example is the same Sacsayhuaman, where, in addition to softening, there are traces of melting and traces of the effect of high temperatures on megaliths.

The same is in other places, for example, Gornaya Shoria, Sigiriya and others. There are not a lot of such places, but they are enough.

As for the traces of the use of weapons, a striking example is Tambomachai, in which one of the walls is black, and one, rather large fragment of the wall, simply melted and mixed to a homogeneous mass.

It is impossible to assert that this is some kind of weapon, but everything points to exactly this. I don’t think that civilizations of the past just destroyed their buildings. And this trail looks like from some kind of powerful point weapon, but which one is a mystery.

In general, for me, the technology of melting and softening are different things, although it is likely that in the past, they were the same thing. Simply melting could be achieved through long softening, in other words, exposure to high temperatures.
