Former municipal deputy of the Yakimanka district of Moscow, Dmitry Zakharov, wrote on his Facebook that the homosexual scenes contained in the film "It 2" violate Russian legislation regarding the prohibition of homosexual propaganda.

Through such insignificant events, the Overton window is slightly opened, Zakharov believes, and they are trying to convince the citizens of our country that homosexuality is not a deviation, but the norm. “Hollywood bigwigs put us in an emotional doublebind. This is when there are 2 options for the development of events and both are negative,”the public figure argues.

The first option is to ban the film. In this case, a stir is created around him, and people watch him at home, on the Internet, fueled by interest.

The second option is movie resolution. Then he works like ordinary propaganda, influencing the fragile minds of young viewers.

But Dmitry Zakharov offered a solution:

“We will turn the enemy's weapons to our advantage. Why ban a really interesting film based on a cult novel? After all, you can simply cut out homosexual scenes, and then we protect our children from homosexual propaganda and leave a good film at the box office, he wrote, stressing that it would not hurt to develop a legal mechanism that would allow cutting out unwanted scenes at the level of rentals approval, and not run every time with initiatives.

“I am sending an appeal to the Minister of Culture. But the problem is that it is considered for a month, and in a month, millions of our children will see an indecent scene. Do you even want your kids to see this on screen? But if a scandal breaks out, the appeal will be considered sooner, Zakharov wrote, urging to help spread the message.

In a commentary for Journalistic Pravda, Dmitry Zakharov said that he had already sent a letter to the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky.

“I have already sent a letter to Medinsky with a request to sort it out and now I will still send letters to cinemas in the largest chains in Moscow with a request, without waiting for an order from the Ministry of Culture, to fix it on my own. I also plan to submit a petition to the law enforcement agencies for the Investigative Committee or the Prosecutor's Office to give their assessment of the scene that is present in the film and take measures from their side,”said Dmitry Zakharov.
