The so-called "near-death experience" has been described by quite a few people. Moreover, different people had quite similar memories of this: they rushed somewhere along a dark tunnel and communicated with spiritual entities.
Skeptics did not take these notions seriously, calling them hallucinations.
American scientist Stuart Hameroff offered his own version to explain these visions.
According to him, a person's consciousness does not disappear without a trace after his death, but is absorbed into the matter of the Universe. The scientist explained that the human brain is an ideal quantum computer, where the soul is information accumulated at the quantum level, the brain is a processor, and the body is a biological machine, a shell.
Hameroff is sure that the accumulated quantum information is not destroyed after the physical shell dies, but goes into the Universe, where it can exist for an infinitely long time.
I must say that the question of life after death - in one version or another - worries many scientists. For example, biologists from Britain in the course of their research came to the conclusion that life after death does exist. The human brain works for thirty seconds after the heart stops and the oxygen supply stops.
In this short time, memories that were previously blocked are flashing before the person's eyes. If the brain lives only half a minute after death, then some cells - 48 hours or more. Scientists called this phenomenon "the twilight of death." The phenomenon where information stored in DNA is converted into "instructions" for making proteins and other molecules is called genetic expression.
Throughout its existence, mankind has been looking for a means, if not to obtain immortality, then at least to maximize life itself. Therefore, they believed that there are certain drugs that rejuvenate the body and affect life expectancy. To be objective, mankind has already managed to prolong life with the help of medicine.
