One bored user asked a question on Reddit how it feels and does a person in a coma feel at all. What happened after, no one could predict. Dozens of users shared their sad and touching stories in the comments, but one of them especially sunk into the hearts of people and caused an incredible response.
“I was in a coma for a week, but to me it felt like just a moment. And here's another strange thing: when I was unconscious, I heard my mother's soothing voice. She talked about my childhood, about what I was constantly doing … And I remember every word she said.
“Mom passed away in 2007, and before she died she fell into a coma. Even then we understood that she would never return. During this time, I constantly told her what a wonderful mom she was. I spoke for hours until she took her last breath. I hope she heard me. I am so sorry that I was not always a good son for her."
“After I wrote this message, I decided to look at our family photos. Her loss still hurts me a lot. She has always supported me in everything, and I really miss her."
“Many people asked how she died. My mom has been fighting cancer for six years. At 8 in the morning that day, dad called me and said that she no longer had the strength to hold on. It usually took 40 minutes to get to the hospital, but I arrived at 20. We all had time to say goodbye to her before she fell asleep. I sat next to her until 8 pm. August 9th, nine years ago, but it still hurts."
And so a simple question grew into something more. Users sympathized with the man hiding under the nickname MrEconomics, supported and encouraged him. Many were moved by this story, and they began to share similar ones.
