Rumor has it that the drillers of the Kola superdeep well on September 27, 1984 opened the road to hell. The secret of one phonogram.
This story is very old. I have known her since 1990. Nobody remembers now, but then many different items were sold in cooperative stalls. Including a huge number of audio cassettes for home tape recorders. And that is true in those blessed times for small businesses, no one knew anything about copyright and other laws.
So in that distant 1990, I, a 20-year-old student, bought an audio recording in a stall allegedly made at the Kola superdeep well. The colorful insert reported that the scientists had recorded sounds from hell. In 1989, the Americans showed a documentary about this unusual incident. A series of articles served its purpose and the well was eventually closed. During the Yeltsin era, they tried to revive the project unsuccessfully, now the unique scientific station has finally died.
However, this is not even the point, the USSR collapsed, which buried the power and greatness of the "Red Empire" under its ruins, and what kind of scientific projects in a country where one half of the population became destitute, and the other half went to bandits or became "shuttle traders" … I had this cassette lying around until 2014, when I accidentally found it.
Since in the 21st century it became possible to digitize sound in everyday conditions and there are very powerful sound editors, then with the help of one of them (the most advanced and modern in the world), I completely cleared the recordings from noise. He even identified a certain signal that was dominant in the phonogram itself. The result shocked me!
A brief history of the appearance of the phonogram itself. In 1983 a record 12,000 mark was passed at the well. The drill of the drilling rig sank to a depth of 12 kilometers! It was an absolute record, comparable in scale in geology to a flight to the moon in 1969. Under the incredible temperature and pressure, the drilling rig ran like clockwork. Geologists have obtained a huge number of rock samples that no one else would have gotten to. But something incomprehensible happened.
The equipment began to work unstable, the drilling rig got into the cavity. Drilling was stopped for a while, and the operator decided to lower the microphone into the well. Here it is necessary to clarify. Those geologists who claim the impossibility of recording a phonogram from such a depth, to put it mildly, are lying. The method of acoustic research has been used for a very long time. An audio signal is sent and then an echo is recorded. In this way, the movement of the lithospheric plates of the earth's crust is determined. The unusual thing about this experiment was that it was recorded on an ordinary reel-to-reel tape recorder.
They just lowered the microphone and recorded. The tape was listened to, and the authorities ordered to destroy it. But the scientist saved the recording by copying it to his tape recorder. Probably, this single phonogram has been circulating “from hand to hand” for over 20 years. The recording itself was so incomprehensible that there is no reasonable explanation for its origin. A very small surviving piece of audio was replete with various sounds. Including those similar to the voices of people. After this recording was made, an explosion was recorded at a depth and all anomalies ceased.

The USSR collapsed a few years later. Brief chronology: In 1983, 12,066 meters were drilled and temporarily stopped - they were preparing for the International Geological Congress, which was to be held in 1984 in Moscow. On September 27, 1984, drilling continued. During the first run, an accident occurred - the drill string broke off. Drilling was resumed from a depth of 7,000 m - and by 1990 the new branch had reached a depth of 12,262 meters. The string broke again and drilling was completed. This certificate shows that something fatal happened on September 27, 1984. And it was then that this phonogram was made. Exactly 30 years ago.
After that, rumors began to be spurred on by various fables. So in the American TV program, a stupid invention suddenly appeared about a demon who fled from the underworld through a well to the outside. But it was about this fact that all and sundry were telling. From the AiF newspaper to the weekly "Speed-Info" (a very popular publication in those years).
The result of my work with the original (hopefully) 1990 soundtrack can be heard in the video above. The recording contains sounds that resemble human voices. There is an audio signal of an old concert phonogram, in those years the equipment did not allow to erase old recordings completely, in the case when the recording was carried out immediately, without first erasing the old signal, the audio signals were "layered".
On my phonogram there is a short fragment of the 80s Italian stage (very fashionable in the USSR in those years). I processed the phonogram in different ways. Separated all extraneous sounds and removed interference. Edited one common from these phonograms. In the end, the original signal remained. The same one that was recorded on September 27, 1984.
By the way, there are sounds of flowing water on the phonograms. Until 1984, it was believed that there was no liquid water at such a great depth underground. Due to the high temperature (200 degrees Celsius above zero) and pressure, the water should (according to the idea) be in a vaporous form, but the water at this depth is liquid (oddly enough). I think it is the sounds of water that prove the fact that my phonogram is not a fake.
We managed to hear these sounds (water) only in 2014, and at that time there was no such computer equipment as now to hear it. I have a rather powerful and modern computer with very good software, so I managed to process this phonogram properly. How you react to this is your own business.
But be sure to listen to what I did. I believe that beyond the worlds there is purgatory in its most real form. Perhaps in that distant 1984, people invaded where there is no way for the living, where there is no way back …
