"Witch's circles" in cereal fields are not a new phenomenon. There is a whole branch of UFOlogy - the science of aliens - that studies this phenomenon. The fact is that many rude and pragmatic people are dreamers and mystics at heart. And Volodya S., which will be discussed in this article, saw a UFO in his youth.

And in general he suspects that there is something beyond human understanding. Like barley circles. And also holes in the glass (there is such devilry - perfectly round holes in windows all over the world, whose nature is mysterious, and ufologists deny the drill as vulgarity and an attempt to achieve cheap materialistic popularity). And, of course, plates with aliens.

The rest reacted to my explanations with interest: in their eyes, I realized that the prospect of getting a boss in my face, who, having been busy with circles and aliens for a month or two, would have lagged behind them with notes and timely delivery of strips, they are quite satisfied.

Nevertheless, using toothpicks and salt shakers, I explained to those present that I understood by looking at a good photograph of the Stavropol phenomenon.

1. The field is crossed by longitudinal stripes, indicating the work of equipment - for one or another processing of crops.

2. On such a lane it is quite possible to drive into the area of the future circle on anything.

3. Further, if I were in the place of a cheerful humanoid, I would act like this. I would drive a stake of decent diameter into the center of the future circle. I would attach to it a rope the length of the radius of the desired circle. And I would have thought: what scale of hoax would I like to present to the world? If my goal is to strike the imagination of a district ufologist - such, I think, there are in every region of our trusting Motherland - then it is enough for me to just stomp on the ears, or, scientifically speaking, move clockwise (this is the direction prescribed by the canonical baida about cereal circles), holding the rope taut. The rope would be wound around the stake over and over again, the radius would decrease with each revolution, and as a result, I would inevitably get closer to the center, resulting in a perfect trampled circle.

IF I would like to enter the history of these entertainments, then on a rope I would have to tie a certain mechanism, the productivity of which should be significantly higher. And in this case, I could increase the radius dramatically. It remains to experimentally find out which of the well-known construction or agricultural tools gives such a deafening alien effect: a roller, a cultivator, a mini-tractor … For this I assumed to use the advice of agricultural scientists and plant breeders.

Promotional video:

Traces clearly visible in the photo also worked for my version - these were definitely concentric circles of different diameters. Each element of this figure, despite the apparent complexity, consists of such circles or their segments. And if you wish, you can think over the most rational route for the roller - changing only the length of the rope or chain on which the unit moves.

In my opinion, everything looked very convincing. But Volodya S., having finished the okroshka, once again expressed his doubt:

- Nothing will come of it. It is not that simple. Firstly, in classical cases (and there are whole volumes of literature about that) the ears on the field are not broken, but you will definitely break them with your roller. They are just crumpled and even slightly intertwined. However, no force can any longer raise them, although plants tend to rise from a state of lodging. Two geeks from England have already tried to prove something similar to your theory, but nothing happened.

Then I showed photographs from the scene - broken and crumpled ears are clearly visible there. And also a hole from the axis - a hypothetical stake on which all this was spinning. Stavropol fans of the alien theory considered the hole a channel from the drill, from where the little green men took a soil sample (why would they want our black soil, eh?).

“Besides,” I added, feeling already quite responsible for the success or failure of the disclosure, “I am undertaking to clarify how you can achieve stable lodging - maybe with what chemicals. Here's an explanation for why different chemical elements are found in disproportionate concentrations in circles. And in general: I would like a cereal field, a consultant plant breeder, a consultant mathematician and a qualified mechanic of a wide profile - I would prove it to you!

- Come on, - colleagues agreed in chorus, moving on to tea. So they sent Columbus on a journey - the old man was tired of everyone with his tales about another journey to India. So they saw off Magellan - round, father, round Earth, it won't be flat, just get on your sailboat quickly and scratch, but don't come back without proof …

Confident of success, but with the thought of some two weirdoes that stuck in my head, who nevertheless, to put it mildly, pierced, trying to portray this devilry, I undertook to study the problem thoroughly - and "drowned". On the Internet alone, I have found a good hundred sites that directly or indirectly touch on the problem of crop circles - crop circles. About half of them would be to the heart of Volodya S. and his supporters. There, anomalous phenomena in the territory of the circles were considered in detail. Their every curl was studied. Cases were scrupulously recorded - and those were first recorded in 1966 in Australia, although even in the Middle Ages, a devil bending wheat with horns was depicted on engravings. I was only embarrassed by the absence of strictly recorded data and protocols, which is usual for UFOlogy - and everything looked impressive.
