Science knows no birds more than Argentavis. Scientists believe that the giant weighed up to 100 kilograms and grew up to 3 meters in height. The wingspan of more than 7 meters is also striking.

For comparison, the largest modern bird, the Andean condor, is as much as 6 times smaller than the Argentavis, although it inhabited the Earth five million years ago. The Argentavis magnificens species is practically not studied: paleontologists only know that the bird had weak pectoral muscles and soared more than flew.

It is difficult to imagine how majestic a soaring Argentavis could look against the background of a transparent sky. And he was not at all harmless - it is believed that Argentavis could even attack saber-toothed tigers and take their prey from them.

The disappearance of the Argentavis from the face of the planet looks strange. The lifespan of these amazing birds was over a hundred years. She had no natural enemies at all, the giants died only from old age. In theory, the Argentavis could still exist today - but we, of course, could hardly miss such a giant soaring in the sky.
